Completely forgot to get back to you on this one Gaz, the reason I only use Vpower diesel is after a conversation with an old school mate.

She was top set in school for pretty much everything and always knew she would go far....according to Ashley (works in the lab for Shell recently at Stanlow) i was talking cars and she told me about what goes into the Vpower diesel. Apparently they have a blend of chemicals designed to breakdown carbon deposits, clean fuel lines and maintain injectors, no mention of cetane rating but I told her I use the V and add 2-EHN every time I fill up.

Only comment she made was basically its a super fuel if im adding the cetane enhancer with all the cleaning additives in Vpower so I've stuck with it. Couple quid extra at fill up but I do love my V6 diesel she is my baby lol

Premium diesels only contain extra cleaning agents , no extra cetane . That's why it's best to add eh99 . Or use dipetane and eh99 along with the cheaper standard diesel.

As regular diesel has some detergents but perhaps not as much as V Power I make up the difference with the odd addition of Redex .

The best value is the 4 Shot 500ml bottles .

Adding 2-EHN to V Power with it's undisclosed perhaps higher Cetane number is probably overkill and just adding more £ .

As a single dad you could save some £ and give regular diesel a go with 2-EHN and occasionally use Redex .


Here's some feedback from guys using the Gazwould blend of 2T and 2-EHN .








Please note that I use JASO FB spec low ash mineral as there is a ' white paper' using JASO FC suggesting that it could leave deposits on the injectors the reason for this would be FC's synthetic oil base .


The above blend I have 12 years constant use experience over two cars and 2T added to regular diesel alone halved my MOT smoke opacity test on a Passat TDI .

The 2-EHN I got for free but once used up I'll purchase 5L as that will be good for 125 full tanks .
