Hi everyone,

I am doing some sums with regard to the costs of my C350 CDI which I intend to buy from MBFS when the PCP is up as the car is going to my wife.

Can't seem to find anywhere to get an approximate cost for extending the warranty?

Warrantywise are quoting £618 per annum and just wanted to see what experience people on here have especially extending with Mercedes and the costs.

Thanks!

Phone mb and ask them ?

...get out of bed spoiling for a fight today, did we?

...that's three threads this morning you've blessed with acerbic and useless comments...glad the mods are aware :thumb:

OP didn't need to be advised to phone MB - he asked for forum members' experiences...

Moff, I was well looked after for two years by Warranty Direct, at half the MB price. Go for the top cover though, I paid around £620. At renewal don't accept their first quote - they will negotiate...

Was merely answering one of the OP's questions.

As highlighted above, he did...

What are you on about? He answered one of the questions the OP asked.

The cost to extend the warranty for my C320CDi was over £900 with Mercedes for a year. I Went with warranty direct which I managed to negotiate down to £600 which I can pay interest free in 4 quarterly instalments - this is the more expensive version of their plan as it covers MB dealership labour rates

A tier 1 warranty with MB cost me £1308. Thats for a 2005 CL600 biturbo with 36k miles.
just had a new ABC/power steering pump, quids in. Parts for your car should be cheaper, may be better off with another company. Ask MB for a quote.

Thanks for the informative posts.

Yeah I suspected that MB would be expensive, could not be bothered calling them yet as the car still has 4 months left and I am trying to work out approx budget for the car as it's going to my wife in March.

I will weigh up Warranty Direct versus WarrantyWise and see which I can haggle to most with!

Warrantywise offer their best service over 2 years for £1100 which is quite good. I just don't have any experience of 3rd party warranty companies.

In most cases the manufacturer's extended warranty is provided by a 3rd party in Mercedes' name.
