Hi

I'm considering a C350e but I'd like to be able to tow a trailer, fit bike carrier, etc.

Are all the c350e rated the same or did some not get homologated for trailers and if so how do you find out which is which?

Much appreciated ,

Jon

I’ve seen a PP saloon with a factory tow bar, although they delete the ‘convenience boot opening’ feature. I’m pretty sure that you need to have a non-PP estate if you want a tow bar though, the extra weight of the glass roof tips it over some limit and they won’t fit a tow bar.

Ta, it's probably worth dropping into the dealers and seeing if they have any idea.

Mmmm. Interesting.
I’ve just ordered a 300DE PP Estate with factory tow bar, wonder if the order will come back as not possible?

Well the order did come back. I can drop to just the premium, or get a 3rd party tow bar fitted. This will disable the boot opening feature.

Would you be able to fit an aftermarket bar though? If MB don't fit them, it probably means it isn't homolgated in that configuration, which as I understand it is 'a bad thing'.

It is legal to tow with it. It’s just MB don’t recommend it owing to the weight. So for a private buyer, the choice is theirs. For me though, as a company car driver, Arval won’t go against MB advice, so it’s a no.
:-/

That’s unhelpful of them isn’t it :(
