That's the same with the vibration / harshness I've noticed. At first I thought it was because I was driving on a windy day and thought wind was catching on the wheel arches, but as you say, it's just motorway speeds.
Battery is dead as dodo... So tomorrow morning a recovery truck is coming to collect the courtesy car to take back to the dealership. I will be in the truck too and maybe they replace the battery and send me back with a new battery or a new courtesy car for the courtesy car of my car???
Hopeful if they've seen it before, but I wouldn't have thought the prop shaft or diff on a RWD car would cause vibration in the steering wheel and floor.
Jeddy, you are expecting too much!! Common sense is the first thing that is lost when these so called mechanics sit in a classroom for their half decent training courses! Believe me, I've taught technicians and engineers for years at university. Even the academic environment can't guaranty the use of common sense when it comes to trouble shooting and fault finding! Nowadays, we have OBD ports, laptops and Apps which are supposed to deliver data and provide information to the user. The common belief is that a dealer's technician is lost without his laptop and knows as much as your green grocer does- UNLESS proven otherwise! Salute to those real mechanics who are not of this wired breed.
LOL. I used to work as a computer programmer (sorry, software engineer - I know some don't like the former) until last year, maybe I should retrain as a car technician. Apparently I have both computer and engineering experience which should help!
I've probably been watching too much Edd China and Fuzz Townshend, both of whom seem to know how to fix problems (although who knows what goes on behind the scenes).
