C350e owners club

Just heard back from Mercedes via Twitter with ref to OAT and they have been in touch with my local dealer to explain the software update. The dealer is coming to pick the car up on Monday morning to update and enable outside air temperature.
Can you post what screens you get OAT after the upgrade?

Car mats

Has anyone purchased any decent aftermarket car mats?

I'm used to getting the AMG trim and didn't even think my c350e wouldn't have mats.

I have the Mercedes Sports trim mats. They seem pretty good but at about £100 they ought to be! Got them as an extra through my company car scheme.

Yes of course I will, at the moment have nothing and FYI the car was registered mid December '15

Had good run up M5 today from Exeter to Cribbs Causeway (75 miles) getting 44mpg. Ran in "EMode" until HVB empty then "Charge" using ICE until HVB range built up to 12 miles in MFD. Then ran in "Emode" again until HVB empty and so back to ICE until HVB full again until 12 miles to go to destination then ran in on HVB to use it all up. Whew! But it worked. I'll be trying this on really long runs in France soon. Clearly on short runs the changes in driving modes have a big effect. As trip length increases the effect of each mode change reduces. I expect that on a really long trip, I won't get much better than 40 mpg. But it's fun and keeps the brain active.

Someone, was it paulhx?, gave the impression that it was possible to use some or all of the 20% reserve and so increase the HVB range from 13-14 mile to the legendary 19 miles of the advertisements. Anyone remember or know how to do this?

Someone said Eco or Comfort transmission and E-Mode hybrid gets you down to 10% battery, but it sounds like you'll be lucky to do 19 miles.

Hopefully mine will finally arrive next month and I'll be able to join the party...

I got some new fitted ones off eBay for £20 inc postage. They're black and the drivers mat has 'leaseplan' stitched into it (in black again) but as its a lease car that unbelievably didn't come with mats I didn't want to spend a fortune. The snug fit of the mats are great and definitely worth the £20 which I'm sure is cheaper than the cost of a worn floor when it goes back in 2 years.

During normal driving in hybrid & Eco mode my battery hovers at around 20% give or take 4% but in slow moving traffic it has gone as low as 8 before but usually 10 or 12%.

You'll be surprised at how addictive getting the best mpg in this car can be. I used to be a naturally late breaker and although this car does encourage you to coast which I did anyway I now tend to break earlier, even if just lightly, just to grab a bit more charge. God I love those little green bars! I've got used to the heptic peddle and think it's a great piece of technology.

Outside of this forum I believe I am what is called a 'saddo' lol

And now for 3rd post in a row, does anyone know how to stop it automatically starting in comfort mode? It generally stays in what I change it to for the day but after a good few hours on the drive it's back in comfort. Any ideas?

Personally I'd like the car to go into S+ mode automatically when I start to use the paddles, as this normally means I want ooomph !

You can't change it - it always defaults to Comfort having been stationary for a while.

I've had it down to 8% usually in hybrid mode just by braking or knocking the cruise stalk down enough for the battery to kick in. And yes, I've definitely had around or over 19 miles from the battery in a single 22-25 mile trip by using cruise control to optimise the speed and top the battery up when slowing down. i have not however achieved 19 miles of pure electric driving continuously from the battery - I don't see how this is possible but I won't give up trying!

Unfortunately my car has suffered the Water ingress problem in the bumper charge point, my car has now been with Mercedes for 4 weeks. The new loom required is apparently on back order and not expected to receive it until 1st week of June. The service manager told me that Mercedes are only making the replacement looms as and when they have a problem. Not sure if that is accurate.

On a plus side I have driven a couple of different model C classes recently and proves I made the right decision with the 350e.

Damn. Seems to be so many.

Getting a bit concerned as my driveway is on a slight incline with me reversing to my garage door for a charge. Guessing this will make the ingress risk even worse?

Wonder if I could get some sort of waterproof cover for when I am plugged in..

I have my iPhone 6 successfully hooked up and the contacts call-up automatically but I can't use the touchpad to search by drawing the letters... Anybody have a solution? Wondering if I need to somehow add the contacts instead of calling them up?

new c class model changes

Hi eveyone, its been a while since i last posted. I ordered my c350e in october! Due on the 20th.

I have noticed on the merc website that there have been a few changes to the model.

1. Blue calipers on the front breaks and a little blue badge on the front wing
2. The option to have the night package.

Does anyone kbow about this and when the changes come in. I would like to know if my car will have these changes...

Any help would be great!!!

From what I understand this is for cars produced from June onwards. If yours is due on the 20th, it's likely already built so won't have the MY17 features.

Thanks for coming back to me. I havent had a confirmed delivery so now i am wishing for another hold up.

Do you know what other changes there are?
