C43 4-Matic AMG Estate poor C63 substitute?

That's not a bad deal and not far behind mine but what spec are you looking at? What packages, wheels etc?

I'll service mine every 12 months roughly so looking this time next year for a £400+ bill.

It's suggested in the article linked to above
Ah ha. I think it's one of the best all round cars Mercedes make today.

Definitely going to look at an E43 when I replace the wifes 350cdi.

ops: Premium Pack/Night pack/19'' wheels/metallic paint/leather interior. Dealer said that all petrol Mercs are now once a year servicing each costing around £420.

OK slightly different spec.

I have:
Premium Plus Pack
Night Pack
Black Obsidian Paint
19" Twin Spoke Alloys
Black Leather
360 Camera
LED Intelligent Lights
Black Ash Pore Wood

Comes out at £52,540.00 + OTR on the MB configurator.

Service Plan is a no brainer for me and I will be going for that.

Yes I have gone for the Ash Wood as well and I guess the Estate will be a little more. I think if I can get the car OTR with a 3 year service plan for around £47,500 then I will give it serious consideration but as the C43 is relatively new in the C-Class I guess there's only so far Mercedes will go with discounting the car. I will being going back soon to listen to a C43 with a Sports Exhaust to hear the difference. Hope its worth it!!

Jon (original purchaser) negotiated a great deal as it was towards the beginning of the 43 launch. I've been to 3 other dealers and none of them got close.

Yep, still not as attractive. Also looked at 2 year lease for a C63 which was tempting but it was a 'buy what they have' rather than your own spec. Plus I would have had to wait until February earliest so this was too good to turn down for me.

Can you tell me which dealer my one is quoting around 5% discount I live in Essex?

And do you think they will introduce a C43s soon as they have done with the C63 if so that will no doubt be around 420 BHP?

If they are discounting like that on a new model then there is a good reason for it. I had a very nice c43 for the day. Really not very exciting but a very nice car none the less. Quick too.

Maybe just fancy a change really and keen to move just in case the new VED rates kick in next April on cars over £40,000. Any views on VED rates?

I really like the C43 - had it a couple of months now.... :)

Doubt that'll do this, would put it too close to the C63, the V6 biturbo produces just over 400 bhp in the forthcoming E43.

The C43 (367hp) is a remapped 400 engine (333hp)

The E43 has some mechanical changes to turbos (I think) to create the 400hp number.

I can't see MB pushing this unit any further, there's no real requirement for a C43s, if you want more, you'd be in a C63.

I was intent on going with an E43 Estate when they arrived but I'm not keen on the new shape so we've decided to go with an Audi S6 Avant instead which is a 4.0TT 450hp motor (though most seem to be leaving the factory with more than 500hp if you believe some of the magazine reviews).

I managed around 12% on a C63 saloon up North, C63 estates are probably similar however the coupe attracts less discount.

I always use the published finance offers as the basis of my negotiations, and start from there, you can always take a small amount of finance to secure the discount.

I tested two RS4's and they felt like barges in comparison to the C43 and a bit dated (2015 model). I've had two previously, a B7 saloon and a B5 Avant and both were great cars. Not sure what the 43 Estate drives like but I'd imagine it would be a very different driving experience.

The estate drives well :) IMHO does not feel any different to the saloon even when driving with a bit more spirit! Not driven the Coupe so can not comment on that one....
