Hi Everyone

I am looking at buying a C43 cabriolet in black 2017 model.
My first MB AMG.
So just wanted some pointers on what to look out for.
Any common problems etc.
I have viewed one car & quite impressed with car. There was a few things I noted.
A rattle upon light revving of the engine from turbo wastegate rods. I understand a software update will reduce this noise, but not eliminate it. I guess a common noise. Front brakes are, so where is the best place to get replacement parts from? What make of pads & discs do MB use?
The Silver surround trims are discoloured, is this common?
The car has Michelin tyres on it, what tyres are best for this car
Does anyone know at what speeds & Drive mode that the sports exhaust flaps open at?, as the LH flap is a little sticky.
Thanks in advance for any advise given
Many thanks all

Welcome, Dave, the only thing I can help you with is, the Silver surround trims, being discoloured is a common problem, and polishing won't remove it, it's oxidatised, you could wrap or get them wrapped, usually Black,
nice motor by the way. :)👍

Anyone else got any views on the above?

Does anyone know how the Sat Nav is updated & costs
It's an A205 C43 on a 2017 year
Thanks everyone

If it has runflats the ride is compromised. I changed mine out and had the car properly tracked at wheels in motion. Made a huge difference. Not a lot more to say apart from they are fantastic to drive and so far ive had no issues.

If it's the Premium Plus with Burmester, it's got to be done at the dealership. Not sure how much it costs but it is mostly a whole day thing.
Having said that, the Sat Nav is not the best in the world, you might be better off with Waze/Google etc on your phone. I last had mine done
in 2019 and it still didn't have some old postcodes that you could enter manually. You had to scroll and find them if they existed. If it's Garmin,
it'll be considerably cheaper.

As an aside on tyres, be prepared for 'crabbing' in the cold. You need softer tyres on the front to escape that. Other than that mine has worked
well.

Agreed....Use Waze, save your money and spend it on something more useful.

Any suggestions on tyres then ??

Mine is a 2019 with PPP and according to the e-mails I get the maps are automatically updated? Did this change since 2017 or is it wrong?

Mine came with PS4s. I had them all changed FOC to OEM Continentals because of the dreaded crabbing issue (tyres skip sideways when moving slowly on full lock, especially in cold weather). It hasn't fixed it entirely, it's due to the geometry and the setup of the drive shafts or something, but these tyres are obviously a little softer so flex more. They're still run flats and I don't think they compromise the ride, but that's personal preference I suppose.
