Hi.
I have sourced all the parts for my c43 project and will be putting it back together over the next 10 days.

I have bought the gear oil from merc but not clear on how much it will take to fill the box and torque convertor from dry and the proper procedure i.e. while its running etc.

Also how much engine oil will i need and what is the best for a car that has been stood for 3 years and has just over 90k miles on it? mobil 1 5-40?

Thanks

Gearbox oil - Buy Gen MB oil only - I would suggest 2 x 5 litres , and if you ask nicely your MB dealer might give you somewhere between 10-15% off.
Mine took somewhere between 7.5-8 litres

Engine Oil - Mine is on 184k and I use Mobile 0w40 with no issues. Again 2 x 5 litres - Official capacity is approx 8 but I find mine always takes a smidgeon more

As above really

7ltr of transmission fluid, add 4ltr start the car and whilst it's running add a further 2ltrs and then start dipping/checking the level.

I use 0w40 Mobil in mine.

Thanks guys.
I bought 8 litres of the gear oil from merc so not a bad guess.
Do I check the oil and get it upto the max mark whilst its still running?

Will order the engine oil in the morning. Thanks
