Hi Everyone,

New owner of a 2023 C43 here. Done ~350 miles so far, then this morning jumped into the car and it wouldn't start. Dash stated the following:

- Traction control inoperative, see owners manual
- Unable to start vehicle

Tried a few times, got in and out etc. but no luck. Called roadside assistance then tried again and it started.

Any ideas what this could be? Checked with garage and they said they had never head from it.....I've also had a couple of battery warnings pop up but dismissed them as hadn't done any long journeys...any suggestions much appreciated!

Checking the battery voltage would be the logical first step; undervots can throw all sorts of warnings. As Germgh0st says, for a 2023 car, back to the dealership you go!

Thanks folks. Dealer is miles away, what a nightmare. I assume they'll be able to see the errors on logs or similar? As all seems well now....

In theory, there should be an error code (or codes) logged when the dealer plugs in STAR (the MB diagnostic tool).
Hopefully an easy fix; keep us posted. Good luck!

Cheers everyone. Technician came out, very efficient, seemed thorough…..can’t find anything wrong. He can see the error but not replicate it. I hate these scenarios, guaranteed to happen again at the worst possible moment….!

Well - today, driving home from work, the screen flashed up with all sorts of errors (rear axle steering failure was the only one I saw before they vanished) Then it conked out while driving. Stopped and restarted it and it started ok with engine light on. Obviously something wrong, no idea what! Very frustrating - ~1500 miles and I’ve had a non start morning, numerous warnings on battery being flat and now this.

Hi , suggest you don't keep trying to start your car as the catalyst can be damaged !

So I have me told.
