C43 AMG 1999 Auto

im having a problem with my car, yesterday i turned the car off, few mins later went to start it again and it doesnt want to tick over, all the lights on the dashcome on fine, batterys all good, it feels like as if the car is not recognising its in park, i have tired starting it with gears in various positions, taken the battery off but no luck, the electronic ignition releases the key without any probs. the cars baffled me.
can any 1 help? shed some light on the matter for me...

I expect its the ignition switch that is a fault. They can go wrong without any warning at all.

Gets a star test done to read all possible fault codes.

Or the crank sensor. Either way, take it (if you can) somewhere to read the ECU for faults (Crank sensor fault will not be left behind - you have to make it fail whilst attached to the reader). Good luck

tahnx 4 ur help guys... the wire 2 the starter motor had been rubbing against the engine and cause a short circuit (£900 4 a new part or £200 for a rewire) i went witht he latter option... thanx 4 ur help guys
