C55 bang

My C55 occasionally when booted almost seems to stall then gives a big drive train bang before going like it should.

I do not mean noise bang. More like a bog down then slam in the back before launching. Any clues?

If its a big jolt and the delay is merely a split second then maybe a diff issue
It's always better to give a little more info........

From a standing start do you feel a great jolt, and then she is fine???

So pulling off a roundabout in 2nd. Boot down, bog down, then boom. It's like the car is going to stall. Then bites.

Presumably this is something new, i.e. it wasn't like that before?

Have you tried connecting a basic code reader to the ODBII port - presumably you don't have access to STAR?

What happens if you accelerate through the gears from a standstill so 1st through to 3rd?

Does the traction control light up during this time ?

When was the ATF last changed ?

Pedal sensor ?
