Ok, no laughing for those who've heard me say I'd think about replacing the rears this summer .. they're down to (or slightly past!) the tread markers :wallbash:

Juuuust passed the MOT, but obviously need to go. I checked them before Christmas and they didn't seem that bad. Rear end has been very loose though, so perhaps having a bit too much fun! Strange how I seem to manage to chew more rubber when it's slippy than grippy! I thought it was just the compound in this cold weather ..

So, for fellow C55 owners out there - are there any tread patterns that just don't work well balance wise? I think P Zero Rosso MOs are what came on it and I've never had them from new, so don't really know how good they could be. Seem to hang on well enough in corners - I've never had the back end step out without power so far.

Starting to get into proper money now for 245 width, so can't really go over £400 for the pair without some serious justification!

Hi, just put on rear P Zero rosso's last month on my C55. Had 9980 miles out of previous pair and 2 1/2mm tread left. Car was getting a bit slidey as well. Had real probs trying to source them though. Even emailed pirelli uk and they had none. Managed to get a pair from Germany through local tire fitters at a cost of £201 each. Cheaper than anywhere else.

I think Conti's are the way forward with a big engined car... A lot also swear by Michelins..

Do a search its been discussed far too many times.

Yeah, I saw they were out of stock on Camskills ... :(

True on your last comment, however all too often it's a conversation with people running much smaller tyres and with very different driving habbits! I think most C55 owners probably appreciate a little bit of the wilder side in terms of pushing the rubber

Anyone care about MO spec or not? MO spec Conti's listed are Sport Contact 5s and 3s (£163.40 and £157.70 respectively). Not used either before. PS2s listed as well, though I've had issues with grip on them before (about 2 months good grip, then falls off a cliff for 12 months). May just have been the FWD car I had back then ...

Conti Sport Contact 5 vs. Yokohama Advan Sport V103 ... ruled most of the rest out. Don't want Michelins again, bored with P Zeros, not really interested in the budget tyres from past experience of destroying them in a matter of months ...

Anyone with a heavy foot tried them on the rear? Interested in characteristics like ease of re-gaining grip under sliding as opposed to falling off a cliff and spitting you off the road!

Went for the Conti Sport Contact 5s .. just have to get them fitted via a refurb now, one corner at at time!! :(

Will give some feedback on them once I get sorted and push them a little.
