C55 AMG Estate.
I want to do a couple of little bits to my new C55 estate including removing the resonator. Is this simply a case of taking the car to one of my local independent exhaust people, have them cut out the res. and directly replace it with a straight through pipe with no ecu tweeking required or is it a bit more specialised?

Thanks Dunc

if your up north, speak to Acid at MSL, if your near or around London speak to Eldin at EMP.they will advise you the correct course

if you have somewhere local then im pretty sure c55 it would either be a straight pipe or x pipe if removing the secondary cats .

Thanks Alps. I did email MSL with the question but didn't get a reply. That was for a quote for res. delete and secondary cat. delete. I'll ring em but if anyone has any experience of this mod if be grateful for some info.

Thanks BTB.

I've made a few for the C55. I have done the secondry cat delete too. They sound fantastic when done.

THanks BlackC55. I've overspend a bit this month and want to do my upgrades a bit at a time. I'll be getting rear parking sensors (surprised these weren't spec'd on the car but it does have full paddles and some other nice bits) plus sat nav/mp3.

So this month it'll probably just be the res. delete. Of all the searches I've done, one solitary post mentions slower throttle response following the res. delete, can anyone comment on this.

Next month I may delete the secondary cats and proceed from there.

I doubt the throttle response would be slower. Something else must be wrong. The delete will not give an increase bhp, but it will certainly sound good and if anything will definitely free up the flow of gasses in the engine, specially if you do some air filters too at the entry.

Id be interested to know who is doing the rear parking sensors and what sort of cost. I always thought the aftermarket kits looked pretty agricultural, so would be interested to hear your thoughts.
Thanks

Thanks DRBC, K & N filter is only £38 from ebay so might do that this month as well.

Ronam, I've had 2 parking sensor quotes at £145/180. They look fine imo. You take your car in and they match the colour then go back in three days when the part is in for fitting.

Is that £38 each or for the pair ?

To be honest I'd leave the standard filters in.

I've got another res. delete question chaps, so I don't look like a complete muppet when I go for some quotes at the weekend.

Is the resonator a single unit, to be replaced by a single stainless steel pipe or is there one for each side of the exit exits? I've looked at images and one shows a single pipe and one seems to show two pipes but this might be the secondary cat delete.

Thanks.

It won't sound great tbh.
Do you mean it just won't make much difference?
I'm thinking of some options to increase the exhaust volume. Do you offer a welding service at your garage?

Yes, of course. The 350 engine with a modified exhaust doesn't sound classy. it sounds a bit chavy. IMHO.

Thanks for your reply, that's frustrating to find out. I wonder why that is and if anything can be done? I did read about v6 exhausts needing an x pipe due to flow of gasses?
I keep meaning to call you when I get a chance but been so busy. Hopefully after the weekend things will be quieter.
