C63 1st gear query

Just noticed that the car won't select 1st when in comfort mode, will do it in sport or manual though. Is this something I've not noticed or is there something wrong? 2010 model

They are designed to start in 2nd when in C (controlled efficiency). If you left paddle it, it will drop into 1.

The user manual details it.

Excellent, feel like a bit of a d**k now but relieved! Ha! Thought it might have been for a smoother ride etc but I only noticed it after the car sort of stopped itself after setting off (very slowly) from cold, almost like the handbrake had been re-applied.

This gives you more information on the gearbox and all the ratios.

There's also 2 reverse gears, one for S mode and 1 for C mode.

I believe in the C mode, it will kickdown to 1st gear as well as selecting it with the paddles but I haven't been able to confirm this.

Indeed it will. First gear in a 63 is ferocious, helped by the soundtrack!
