Hi guys. Quick question. My 507 has the standard spoiler, but its carbon look. I think its been wrapped and I dont like it TBH. I dont think its been done that well so im considering changing it to real carbon fiber. I have just ordered a Carbon Factory rear diffuser (big fin) and its arrived and look great. I didnt want the factory OEM style. If your gonna shell out £300+ it may as well look a bit more eye catching. So the question is style. I know there are 4 or 5 options, but i only like 2. The OEM but proper carbon fiber or the V style - which is similar to OEM just sits a bit higher out. I know purists will say keep car standard, but im one of those who likes to personalise with subtlety. I hate OOT mods which look cheap. I also always keep the OEM parts to put back on if I desire or the next buyer wants them back on.
So should it be carbon OEM style or the V style which looks like OEM just little more prominent (like the diffuser will be) votes?

If you are keeping the original parts then do whatever you like the most because nothing is being ruined. It isn't like you are fitting a Liberty Walk wide arch kit and cutting away your original bodywork.

Personally the OEM carbon one is great but I'd love to see the V style one if you have a picture.

Exactly. I agree. Keeping the OEM parts makes it easy to swap back if i choose to or someone else does in the future. The changes are fairly subtle so i doubt many people would opt to go back, but parts are there is needed. No point selling the parts for peanuts and then having the spend lots on finding decent used OE parts in the future. It will only get harder to find original stuff. The diffuser and spoiler goes on next week. The spoiler you ask about is called "Vath" style or V. It was from Lithuania. Quite similar to the OEM shape fitted, but its a little larger and more curved for aero contour. Visually different, but not massively in your face. I like subtle mods for personalisation vs in your face nonsense. Here are some pics before its fitted. @UKGTC

Looks decent and I keep an eye on the thread to see it on your car.

looks good and doesn't look out of place with oem kit.
Thats what i think too. The carbo diffuesr didnt look quit right before the spoiler went on. After new poiler they compliment each other now.

Makes the car look more balanced in the rear - looks good but the most important thing, it's how much you like it.

If your gonna go bigger with the spoiler or diffuser i think you have to go bigger otherwise why bother......... but not too big. Its quite a balance to get it just right. I thinknthats a good word you used.
I have the csrbon oem style diffuser delivered incorrectly before the larger one came. I would have paid 300 quid for a barely noticeable difference.
Got the old oem parts anyway. But im happy. Looks planted. !

Hi do you have any pictures of the new one

So a few more updates on project 507...... Ive been subtly making a few minor changes that are not permanent and can easily be reversed and the project isnt finished but its now getting there: What have i done so far:
1. Front bonnet badge - now AMG
2. BMC air filters
3. 2nd cat delete (that wasnt me, but came like it surprisingly) - which saved me about £500 - £600
4. Ignition key silver sleeve changed (it was quite scratched)
5. Quaife LSD installed
6. New rear exhaust suspension rubber mounts x 6
7. Carbon Fibre rear diffuser new fitted
8. Carbon Fibre rear spoiler new fitted
9. Stage 1 MSL custom tune. Via Acid. It made 520BHP standard before tune, which was great. Post tune is made 544 BHP and nearly 495 lbs ft torque. Thats more than many Stage 2 (with full de-cat and headers) - Acid wasnt surprised as he says the BS and 507 are always have good power - even vs the PP.
10. Just had is detailed, correction, 3 year ceramic, brake calipers ceramic'd, Glass ceramic, Wheels ceramic'd. Interior clean inc Alacantara steering wheel brought back to near perfect condition, Under body full clean with Lanoguard protection.
11. New 507 decals made / cut by Lee Vallely

Will show pictures here shortly. Wheels are not back on it yet and I havent seen it in the flesh until tomorrow when it all dry and ready to go.

Last job and a big one.... I am having the upper sump problem sorted. It has a very minor "weep", not even a leak. MSL said not to worry as it very minor, but Ive got it being covered under warranty when i bought the car so may as well as its a £3k job. So when that's sorted it should be super nice all round... with 32K miles only. Trying to get it to a standard worthy of future investment.

Diff Install - Open to Quaife LSD. Made a ton of difference. Now drifts with control and ease.

Ceramic & Decals stages. Decals look quite light under the lighting, but im sure they will look fab in the flesh and very "fresh"
