As above, after the car being sat for 3 weeks I have just started her up to find a ticking sound coming from the engine, possibly the right hand side bank. The ticking increases with the RPM.
I have 2 videos that I will upload to YouTube.

Anyone had this before? It's a 2012 coupe.

Thanks

Hope so! Thanks for the response! I ran it for 5 mins then turned off as didn't know how bad it was, checked the belts straight away. All looks ok and was fine when I left it 3 weeks ago

Oil level OK?

I just had a very careful drive home (5miles in comfort mode) and the ticking has stopped. I've never had this ticking noise happen before now and I often leave the car for 2-3 weeks without starting it.
I'll have a good look over it tomorrow. Might pop into the local MB dealer and ask the mechanics there.
Thanks guys for the info

I had same after leaving it parked up for 3-4 weeks, took it for 20 min drive and all ok. Its probably oil leaking out of the hydraulic tappets. Question here I gather MB spec oil for our AMGs can range from 0-40, 5-30 and 5-40 I wonder if cars with the thinner spec is having more of this problem? also noticed that when my car is left for a few days it really smokes on start up and has been like this since its last service, so I'm wondering if the dealers used the thinner spec oil as the previous dealers may have used the thicker spec? any thoughts

Mine does that too!

If I leave it parked for several weeks it sounds like this. (Heavy ticking)
Then after a drive it's gone.

Would be interested what you find out.

I had the same sound after leaving my car for a week with the Wheel Specialist while away on hols, that was in 2015 ( 2011 C63 coupe 27k miles ).
Drove her home at 40mph all the way to the MB garage, on entry it stopped and fingers X has never done it since. As shes a garage queen i start her up every week now and go for a spin.

Mines a 61 plate with 35k. It's also been sat for some time (several months) before I bought it on Saturday. It was serviced a couple of hundred miles ago, but it was a while back. I'm hoping its just that it needs a proper drive.

I was advised they need to be driven really hard for a while to keep everything in check!
