Do members use 98 Ron fuel minimum as recommended?

Picture from a c63 bs owners manual.

Sure that used to be in the user manual in my 2010 cars

Always used Premium/Super or Tesco 99.

Why eat a nice steak and drink a cheap bottle of wine.

Some members use 95ron (yes I know!) hence my post thought it would be interesting to see the results.

Hope you keeping well Simon.

I normally use 95 unless I'm going to do a performance event and I don't care what the manual says!;)

Always use Shell V Power or if i am stuck whatever "performance fuel"they have.
I used some Asda stuff once (It was that or run out) and the car ran like a bag of hammers!!!!

My CLK55 uses V Power (seem to recall telling Paul that when I had the remap) and the E63 says 98 so i use Sainsburys finest or mainly Shell V Power in that!

Approaching a year with my CLS55 and I can honesty say I cant tell the difference between 95 and 98 Ron.

I have, however filled up with 98 if I know I will be ragging it, eg: taking mates out for a spin.

Compared to most countries, our 95 is good enough, no leaves or debri :D

This could be due to your manual stating 95ron minimum as opposed to 98?

I never got the manual, but AFAIK it does say 98 for AMGs

Nope e55k manual states 95 minimum so I assume same applies to your cls.

My M156 manual said 98 or poss engine damage. I've posted it on here a trillion times, and that's no exaggeration.

I've always had either shell or Tesco 99 in my car.

It might just be me, but BP ultimate does not work well with the car, ran worse than normal 95.

on the 102 stuff over on the continent, the car was running very nicely :thumb:

for the sake of £5 (max) difference on a fill up over the standard fuel, I'd rather go with the 99 Tesco or Shell Super duper nitro ++++++ stuff

Weird, I would have thought any V8 would have it suggested, my Dads W211 E240 (V6) recomends 98.

My 32K is 75% of a 55K and the manual and flap both say 95 RON.

Our M156 63s are both 98 RON in the same places.

Both drink exclusively V-Power

Yup Vpower only on my Last E63(M156) and on my current E63(M157)

Infact I even used Vpower Diesel on the 740d never noticed a difference on it though. I thought it might turn into some super duper AMG eating beast but it didn't :(

Has anybody noticed rough idle on M156 on V-Power since they changed to Nitro? Heard complaints from M-forum members.
