C63 amg overheating issues

my C63 has now suffered twice from the transmission overheating. I have heard there is a sofdtware update to the ECU to raise the tempature threshold from 135 degrees to a higher number as 135 degrees is considered a conservative tempature.

Anyone heard of this update? had it done?

Yes, but it does not solve the actual overheating issue. You have to look for the cooling package that is mentioned in these forums. The dealers are clueless so far.

The fix is there - bigger coolers from the Black Series. It takes time for the dealers to familiarise themselves though. See the other thread on the cooling package. I called the dealers with actual part numbers, they said they are visible, but as parts available in Germany only and without prices for now. I wonder if this has something to do with Performance Centre vs. regular dealership.
