Whilst i was driving in Italy my car starting making this funny clicking noise whilst i was coasting at speeds around 20mph. Took it to an Italian MB and they told me it was the control arm and it was safe to drive back to England.
Anyway i did, got the car into a Mercedes near a certain large airport in the west of London. Anyway road tested it and they even had a look.... They said its fine... My car was booked in on the 17th with them as i complained to MB Customer Service (who are useless) about the camshaft issue a few members on here have experienced. My car was in with them for over 5 weeks and all they replaced was the cam solenoid.
Anyway they called me last Tuesday and said no noise from the cams we cant hear it, even though i have video recordings from when the car is started.
They also said that they couldnt find anything wrong with the control arms. I told them to go back and look at the car and do the following. Push down on the engine where the signed plaque is quite hard and that recreates the noise. Two hours later he calls me back and tells me they just found the problem and its the torque arms!!!
WTF!!!?!?!?!? Are these guys clueless when they were checking the car over... Why do i have to tell MB techs to do their job??? Currently writing to MB UK about this as the customer service are beyond useless. With regards to the cams, they have written to me to tell me they think its ok so if the engine dies etc i will go back to them and say i told you so....
i dont know if anyone remembers my posts about the Michelin Pilot PSS and feeling airy when driving... Well now with the new torque arms, this feeling has completely gone away, and feels a lot more solid.... Apparently there is a service bulliten with this info for the c class replacement of torque arms, so get to the the dealer if you are having the same issues.
This whole sage has really put me of the AMG brand and kind of annoyed me.... Look forward to anyones thoughts.
