C63 Black Series on CC

It will likely sell to a collection owner on rarity value, though, not on performance. 510 bhp and 457 lb.ft. just isn't 'formidable' or 'blisteringly fast' these days. A stock C63 is only a touch slower for about a third to a quarter of the price; a much better bet if you want one to actually drive.

Is the Black the same power/engine as the 507?

i did drive a CLK Black back in the late 00s and it was fun, I guess similar mechanically to this? Is there much difference between a PP or 507 W204 and the Black?

They do seem a tad expensive but collectors cars always do.

Power and torque are near enough the same as makes no difference. The BS has improved, adjustable, suspension and the (inevitable) red brake calipers and carbon-fibre bits of trim (yawn...), though that one, thank goodness, doesn't have the comedy boot spoiler for real yob appeal. I thought a slippy diff was standard, though its not mentioned, but most of the extra 'value' is in the rarity.

2019-2020. 74 miles covered.
What a waste😞

If the relationship between ability and cost was linear then the C 63 BS would not be worth the premium on top of a regular C 63, but that’s not how it works in reality.

There’s a night & day difference in earnings potential between a top tier Formula 1 driver and those in other racing series, despite them being very good drivers

It costs much more to be a little better the further up the ability and cost curve you go. Does that mean the C 63 BS is too expensive, or that the C 63 is a bargain?

The answer to that depends upon perspective, how much you value the difference in ability (or “specialness”), and how deep your pockets are.

I know the C class shell is lighter than that of the E class. But the 525 hp and 630 N/m torque the M156 puts out in the w212 chassis isn't slow by any stretch. It's not as quick as it's predecessor M157 the figures suggest this. But coming from an E class 113k 55 the W212 6.2 doesn't disappoint in the slightest. With the air suspension at the rear and the springs upfront its a very nice set up and very capable when pressing on. The Extra bhp as and torque the BS produces over the standard C63 would make a massive difference. And for my own satisfaction my 156 feels so strong. And we all know AMG play down there BHP and torque figures. I will have my car put on a RR one day to see what it produces.
