The car is in for a service very soon and I know Merc will be calling me to say the front discs and pads need changing as its started making a grinding noise.

The pads are fine (only 25% worn) and the discs look good so I couldn't work out what was wrong. Anyway ive just discovered the inside face of one disc is fairly heavily grooved

So been looking around and come across a Kunzmann who are advertising genuine discs and pads for approx £460.

So the question is has anyone purchased from Kunzmann or know of another reliable supplier of genuine parts?

How much are the discs and pads from MB?

As I said the pads are hardly worn and the discs have a 1/2mm lip at worst but I just know MB wont say lets skim the discs and fit new pads

Eurocar parts 250 discs and pads get them done before the service by a good local garage

Dont buy any brake parts for AMG from EURO. I learnt the hard way and ended up paying double labour and parts. They WILL squeal/squeak. Try GSF if they stock Zimmerman or Jurid parts for your car as they are OEM for AMGs

I was about 570 all in for front discs and pads fitted by mb Aberdeen

Quoted me the same for my car so for a C63 that's a sound price

I bought front and rears, discs, pads and new wear sensors from MB Inverness for a little less than that (£560 from memory) to replace myself.

Mine aren't PP either.

Me neither Steve and thank the lord for that. €299 for non PP discs or an eye watering €1429 for PP??

PP brakes do stop better :-) although their main selling point is cooling and abuse they can handle compared to normal.

Being under the impression from dealers that the PPP discs are different thickness / caliper fitment to the regular 63 discs, has anyone come across a viable alternative to the PPP disc (and pads) for PPP cars?

I was told not. Something to do with caliper clearance / disc thickness

Yip crazy difference in price probably don't cost that much to make either

Steve

Sure I've read a few posts on here that people have cooked there pp brakes in one track day session

I'd rather cook non pp discs and go out And buy another pair and still be quids in

Steve
