Nice cars, very very nice.

Sorry to highjack the thread but::::

Alfie is does your friend have a C63? pushing 570?

Where did he get the tuning done? Has he had it dyno'd?

I sense a small tune up comming your way ShanSL350, maybe Kleemann??

How are you finding getting on with your car?

PS. I ran the fuel low deliberatley so the dealer would fill it up but I know what you mean, do you use your car everyday?

Still up for that meet with Mr Wolf? ;) I may be up for a visit to the Cooden Beach (see Events section) and on the Monday after the Ace Cafe???

Cheers
Mark

Hey Mark

Bet you can't sleep waiting for tommorrow.

Have been keeping an eye on the tuning front for these cars as i dont see any realiabilities issues with releasing the extra BHP that MB have taken away from them.

Biggest problem seems to be that no one has actually achieved it yet thats why i was interested in Alfie's friends car.

Kleeman are the only company showing data for a C63 but it remains to be seen in the flesh.

Love my car to bits its been fun so far, i use it most days although my offices are close to home so i tend to find plenty of diversions on the way home.

Still up for the London meet its the end of Septemberm from memory?

Good luck for Tommorrow

Fantastic looking car Mark, you must be really pleased with it.

Are you actually going to keep this one for a while?

FANTASTIC!!

(Sorry for shouting).

Great write-up and a beautiful car. Guessing you're out in it now being 1 Sep and all that - have fun!!

PS the first post in this thread must be the most thanked post ever (90 and counting!!)

Another round of pics.....

As a side note when I got back and cleaned the car we noticed a stone chip on the bonnet, and some scuff marks (maybe where people have been leaning against it when parked) this is currently being dealt with through the insurance (excess free) and top marks for MB for dealing with it immediatley.....

Now on 900 miles and no issues at all....

One last thing, if you organise your trip through MB collections you will have a GREAT time, enjoy!!!!

Nearly all the cars we looked at at the AMG factory including the C63's were having enhanced detailing,

Leather interior dashboard of C63 (Don't ask about steering wheel as I don't know why its like this....)this one did have all the dashboard covered in hand stiched leather, a bit ott for me but for some of these cars money was no object.

CLK DTM as a follow on from R2D2's thread, the road going version....

This is a HEAVILY armoured G55, it's difficult to see but the front windsreen was 3" thick,

....and the passenger door, notice the inner door lining, this is sheilded with armour plating too, apparently if you are a target for a shooter they aim for the shut lines on the doors as this is the weakest part.....I had to use both hands and some considerable effort to shut this door it was that heavy.., the car weighed in at about 4.5 tonnes....

This is a C63 being prepared for demonstration racing, carbon fibre look....

DSC_4682S.jpg

Again not allowed to take pics of the front as it shows extra cooling for brakes etc.....a bit secret!

even the rear passengers get bucket seats.....

Very nice Mark - Enjoy. Do you reckon they will let me order my C63 in CF?

The motto at this place was "If you can pay for it, no problem"....

By the way it looks like CF but its only a vinyl sticker, the CLK DTM had real CF front wings/doors and bonnet etc, I suppose thats a huge cost and one of the things that you dont really "see" hence the price.

I'll PM you the info.

Suffice to say though if you opt for the AMG performance pack that raises the top speed limiter you also get higher capacity oil coolers and fuel pump. According to a very reliable source who spoke to AMG about this, if you unleash the reigned in power you really should uprated the oil cooler and fuel pump system. Not sure if the chap I know of has done this:eek:

Actually I've been thinking about this for a while, it seems you can order anything within reason on these cars and honestly I really don't like any of the colours these cars are offered in.

I'd like to order my C63T in Almandine Black, it's the nicest colour I've ever seen Mercedes produce. I wonder if they'll do that and if the cost is excessive. I'll have a chat with the local dealer. Plus I'm not keen on all the chrome trim around the windows and such.

Agreed on the Almandine Black, love that colour

Agreed +1, very nice.

You will have to go down the designio route to get this, and it could put your delivery back 2 months, so be quick....:D

I cant PM you as you dont have enough postings yet. Post a few more times and it should then work. I think you need 30 posts in total or more?

Nice writeup..you done a beautiful thing for the car..bonding..meeting it at its birthplace and bringing it to its new home..but less pain like in pregnancy..

The car has been setup beautifully from interiror colour scheme to exterior colours and the alloys..enjoy the glorious AMG..
