C63 Coupe Tyre option

that cant be right as the 30 is the aspect ratio, ie tyre wall heights are 30% the width of the tyre ? Increasing width and keeping same aspect ratio will lead to a slightly taller tyre

They would have a 3.3 mm extra hight in the side wall . It would not cause a problem .

ok we agree the height is changed then. Being thick here............ how does the tyre pressure device work, I thought it detected minute changes in rolling diameter ? I understand this is a very sensitive device. Also would it affect things like traction control etc ?

It would be fine , 3mm is less than the difference between new tyres and worn tyres .

currently have 255/30/19 on the back of my 63

Tyres are knackered, it seems from this thread that 265/30/19 are an option but surely this will affect ride height fractionally and monitoring systems ?

Yes it will affect the height of the sidewall. You should remain within 3% of the rolling radius.

255/30/19 = 1939mm
265/30/19 = 1957mm

So your within that tolerance.

Went up to 265 30 19 Michelin Pilot Super Sport on rear and they transformed my C63 - no more dire lack of rear end Grip - also went up to 245 on the front and no more understeer in the wet - makes a HUGE difference!!! Also even had improved ride which means better traction

265 is the width
30 is the tyre profile
19 is the diameter

255/30/R19 are the same as 265/30/R19 only wider.

S

Well,no they ain't. 30 is the percentage of the width(255 or 265,or any numbers).
So 255/30/19 has 76.5 mm hight(profile) and 265/30/19 has 79.5 mm hight.
Its nothing really, but aint the same. Would be noticable on much larger or narrower tyres. (275-285).

PS. I just saw after my comment that other members had already clarified it.
