Hi Guys

Well guys my bestest pal in the world Nige has helped me to decide to take the plunge and have a stage 1 re map on the ecu on my baby. Currently that she has PPP as you no so the bhp figure should be around 486 with a 0 - 60 time of 4.4 seconds. This upgrade should theoretically take her to around the DR520 spec and put her over the magic 500 bhp figure and bring that 0 -60 time down to around 3.9 - 4.0.:thumb::thumb:

It will be interesting to see what difference this is going to make to the car and has been on the agenda for a while with me but I just haven't had the front to follow this through, but due to a few glasses of the white stuff from the south region with Nige on Saturday afternoon he has finally swayed me to part with my cash and have this done.

I have been told that I should notice a huge difference not to just the power of the engine but also to the whole feel of the car and put it on par with what the car has been set up for. I will update you guys Friday night once I have got her home from the tuners and with the bhp stats from the rolling road they are going to strap her to before and after the re map has been done. I just hope its all that I am hoping its going to be.

Hi what tuner are you using ?

Yeah I remember when Palmball had that done and he wasn't too impressed with what Brabus had done to the power of his car. If anything it went down rather than up on the power curve.

The guys that are doing this for me have bags of knowledge and experience and have helped to tune some of the fastest and most powerful cars in the country. My pal Nigel's RS6 they did for him and that is now pushing nearly 800 bhp with 900 nm torque. An absolute animal of a car. Saying that hes just spent a fortune on a Movit Brake set up on full carbon ceramics for his RS6, the only one in the country to have this set up. If hes down at one of the next meets have a word with him on the details of his car. Incredible.

Not saying that these guys are any better than Brabus or alikes but they have done many C63's across Europe and have guaranteed me a smile after this has been done. The restricter will be fully removed also taking the top speed upto near the 200 mph mark. As a track car I think mine is going to be incredible in which I have the 2 x GW days planned as well as a trip to the Nurburgring in July. I am hoping to getg another European track under my belt this year also in which Nige is having a run out to Imola which I may join him on that too.

It will be interesting to see what the results are going to be on the before and after stats are produced on the rolling road in which these guys are going to strap her up for me on both cases so I'll be able to see what she will be running before and after.

Hi, have you considered a Kleeman upgrade?

Hi, have you considered a Kleeman upgrade?

Hey how you doing Mr T,

Yes I have, as well as a few others but as I no that these guys have worked on cars that I no, then I can see the results first hand and they have a very good reputation, so am happy to see what they can do and see if they can match what they are saying can be achieved.

I think to be honest they are all the same apart from when you start upgrading the parts on the car. Like with Palmball he had a huge amount of work done to his including the suspension and if I am right he was very impressed with the de cat and suspension set up but not overly impressed with the Brabus ECU upgrade and had it put back to its original settings as they were giving out bigger bhp stats.

If you see this thread Palmball maybe you could give a bit more colour on what I have put.

So it will be interesting to see what this upgrade will do and how it will change the performance which I don't believe anyone has had done yet just on its own.

what kind of money are they charging for the ecu remap.
i had a dms ecu done when i had my first c63 and the performance was amazing.

I have read almost all of Palmballs threads and It is astonishing the information I have picked up from him. For me in the tiny isles, Klemann was the most convenient and respected tuner I could turn too. I had the original C63 the year before and did a couple of trackdays and the difference is certainly noticeable.

Looking forward meeting up with you all in August at Gw. Unfortunately on hols for the first Gw day!

Yeah thats a shame I no you said you couldn't do the first GW meet, but we'll get together in August! :)

Yeah Palmball has been the knowledge guru on this site on all things C63 and he has done a huge amount with that beast he owned. It was the reason why a Brabus upgrade would not have been on the cards for me.

How much did the Klemann one cost you if you don't mind me asking Mr T?

So do I for ...vv, which seems a lot for a straight remap.

Will you do some timed acceleration figures both before and after please. They don't need to be 0-62 (100kmh), any speed range will do.

Have you got access to a G-force meter to see what really happens?

This could be really interesting.

MRC definitely know what they doing, I spoke to the guy that does the tuning after a friend recommended them ( he had i foreign name cant remember it lol) and he was telling me that's he's tuned AMG's before, he seemed to know the 55k quite well anyway..

Hope it goes well bud..

Paul

The K1 upgrade was about £1,400 and basically was sending the Ecu to Denmark. It was all done in literally days! I have done 8,000 miles and 4 track days and all my rubber is in good order, maybe it's time to take my cardigan off!

thats ok what kind of bhp and extra torque do they think they will gain?

It's a C63 so normally aspirated. It will be interesting to see if they can gain any meaningful increase, other than lifting the rev limiter.
