C63 ECU Re Map

Good luck with your remap mate , hope you get what you are looking .
My cars geting done on saturday .
Hope to hope to catch up with you soon bud .

Where are you getting your re-map done mate ?

Hi Guys,

I have used Mihnea Cotet at MRC Tuning on my car and trust him when he tells me he's mapped in excess of 20 C63's across Europe with good results. Yes I understand the references to Std/PPP cars and difference in % gains on N/A cars but gains are gains and I trust they will be achieved safely.

With my limited knowledge... a stage 1 ECU map on a N/A car will involve refining the fuelling, my understanding is that the C63 revs to the limit in M so no gains to be had there as mentioned.

The Cartec Dyno, as any dyno is just a measuring tool, the settings cannot be adjusted, variables such as Ambient Temp and Pressure are automatically accounted and the Dyno is connected and monitored by Cartec remotely (the last time I was there a rep was actually on site auditing)... this is the same controls as Surrey RR, I used to run the car back and forward to Charlie down the M40 from MRC prior to MRC having the Dyno installed in there new premises. Dyno's will always give varying results due to the differences in air flow etc but as said they are just a pre and post measuring tool and should be viewed accordingly.

I have a Performance VBox, we will take some times, before and after and fingers crossed for a positive improvement!! As Palmy says, and I agree... I feel my car performs better after I’ve washed it, let alone oil changed or mapped lol so VBox is our friend and industry standard.

What would be good chaps, previous results from stage 1 mapping C63’s – Power/ performance before & afters?

Oh, I forgot to mention something else....at the top speed event I went to last year with Lopes, there was a guy there with an RS6 (previous model to Nigels) that was supposedly mapped and dyno'd to 640bhp.

Lopes will back me up on this....my C63 was faster. Work that one out :dk:
Was that at Vmax early in the year? Have a feeling that was a case of trying to run race fuel that wasn't what it said on the tin

Doug's (MRC) 2.7l S4 ran 202mph that day?

Where are you getting your re-map done mate ?

geting it done at gama motorsport in banbury by angle tuning as part of the group buy day ive arranged . Your more than welcome to come if you want theres a thread on here with all the deatails

That's s good point Nige, guys that have had this done cam you post up your stats for some comparisons.

Thanks:thumb:

Heyyyy.... How you doing Matty, yeah I hope so to but reading Some of the guys concerns on here it does make a lot if sense whst Palmball is saying. I just hope I am not wasting my time and money. I think it's just one of these things that I have got to try myself just for the curiosity side of things.

So hows that beast of yours and what are you having done mate?

Be good to catch up soon.

im just having a remap and some performance filters fitted. have got a service b coming up and also need an atf change and some rear brake pads , after some drama with a warranty and stepper motor im hoping its the last ££££'s im going to have to spend for a while .

id go ahead with the map even if you just get a bit better mpg it will have paid for itself overtime .

even though i dont have a c63 i will post some before and after times .

hope it all goes well for you mate , lets us all know how you get on :thumb:

Not Vmax, its a mile event held once a year, its a good way of testing just how powerfull your car is.

The MRC Black RS6 managed 176.x to the mile (sorry Andy lol)., interesting car actually it had a manual gearbox too, if I remember correctly it produces over 700bhp.

Link to the results.

You guys should should come to the next event, put the new found power to the test!:D:thumb:

Oh OK, he did get a faster speed than me

7mph faster.

With an extra 200bhp

Yep...that was good money well spent ;)

If anyone goes to this then DO NOT use your everyday wheels!

This runway ruined both my rear wheels (which were unmarked before the event) - the C63's standard rear tyres don't offer enough rim protection and whatever was on the surface of the runway chipped away all the lacquer right round the entire edge of the wheel

Get some spare wheels or use some sort of tape round the rims to protect them!

Anyway, heres the challenge for you chaps...you need to get 170mph or above to beat the time I got from my C63 - the car was standard at the time with only the Brabus remap which, as you've all seen, gave no extra power (but did allow it to exceed it's standard limiter)

You're on mate.... :D

No stock car in the US has done the mile at 170, modified cars do. your car was fast, You may have not seen the gain on the dyno but your car was quicker/faster no dought in my mind. Anyway, dyno numbers dont mean sh*t!:D

You will be in the most capable hands there, but as you know Nigel you already know that too!

Thanks Graham, yes I have heard good things about these guys and seen there work first hand so no they no what they are doing.

Have you had any experience with these guys yourself?

Yes. They have tuned my B5 S4 from 265PS to 335PS and 529Nm. They are massive on the VAG scene but their talents are wider and their services used further afield than that.

There are lots of doubters here, mostly because I don't think people (myself included when I had my Merc) have necessarilly had the benefit of going to a tuner that really knows what they are doing.

There are no tricks, ploys or fudging with these guys. Their dyno will show you well enough before and after.

It was all the driver ;) :D

Ooooo looks good Paul, David Yu (Godzilla) beat me at VMax200 by 1mph (196 to 195) so I may be in with a shout ;)

Yeah for sure mate, you cant ignore that twin turbo V10 you have there!:thumb:

David and I went up toghether at the end as we had the fastest cars on the day, I did 180.01 and I think he did 180.7, he was allot quicker tho.

Whats Vmax 1.4 1.6 miles before you brake?

Ok today was the day that I took my baby to have a remap and see what these guys at MRC could do for me and see if they could squeeze anymore power out of the already insane 6.2L V8 in my C63. As most of you guys no, I had the PPP and Drivers package added to my car when she was being built which took the already head stirring figure of 456ps to the dizzy heights of 487ps 480 bhp with 600Nm.

The day started with my bestest pal Nige coming with me upto Banbury and introducing me to these guys at MRC who worked on his monster RS6. Mihnea and Doug who run the show there were working on an RS4 and these guys have a huge rep on the Audi Scene whereby some of the cars they had there and the power they were pushing were incredible, also met a great guy called mate who had taken his V6 2.7 engine out of his RS4 and was in the process of finishing off his rebuild with engine on the bench to the tune of over 600 bhp from his engine...un-believable .

Anyway back to my day and my re map. The guys at MRC you can see have a huge wealth of knowledge and were talking to me about the cars and what they would be looking to do to mine. Mihnea has done many C63s standard but mine would be the first one with PPP that he would be working on and would be interested to see what figures we could get her to show. He started by seeing what the car was producing at standard PPP form and as me Nige had to sit in the back of the car to stop the wheels from spinning up and filling the workshop of smoke form the tyres like it did on one run, a figure came up of 486PS 582Nm almost spot on to what AMG claim when you have PPP added to your 63. Good job AMG...

So the callobration of the dyno I was more than happy with and didn't feel the need to get this done else where. The final figures that we finally got after several hours with the guys came out as 512.6 PS 650 Nm a huge jump in increased power especially the torque figure. Was a little dumb struck to be honest as to buy an equivalent DR520 model which is where we were trying to get to we ended up almost near the figure we wanted and put a huge smile on my face.

Now the important bit, is this any different on the roads and do I notice any real differences to the car from before, the straight answer to this is.....OH YEAH BABY!...OMG....the difference especially for N/A engine mid range is incredibly smooth, but the real difference is the extra torque from pull away right through to 4,000 rpm, she is like an wild animal and a bit psycho at the same time, things smooth out at top end which even though they have fully removed the limiter on the car, the smooth but seamless way she now gets to higher speeds is intoxicating and I am hoping that the novelty wheres off soon before I lose my licence.

Just want to say a huge thank you to Mihnea and Doug at MRC Tuning, but the biggest to my pal Nige who if it wasn't for him pushing and pulling me to get this done knowing these guys could do the business for me and put a huge smile on my face. :thumb::thumb::thumb:

I have some 0-60 times and 100 kmh - 200 kmh times on the standard car before the Stage 1 tune but have not yet had the time to re do these now with the remap but wil get these done this weekend and will post these up the weekend.

So for £10k less buying a DR520, you now all no what to do :bannana:
