I would be grateful of any help on this......I managed to break the engine badge(Star) cleaning today and can’t seem to trace a replacement from anywhere!. Could anyone give me any info on a replacement please ?.

Kind Regards

Some people use the star from a wheel centre cap

Are they the exact size then? .....It’s the ring part of the engine cover badge that broke but want to replace the lot?

Did similar damage on the one on the engine cover of my E500. They are not sold separately according to Parts dept.
I picked up a second hand engine cover from a C350 on eBay for £20. Managed to carefully remove the star and perfectly replaced my broken one.
Hope that might help

I did the same on my C55, inner wheel cap, but it is not quite big enough to cover the very small molding holes on the outer edge of the original star. On an M113 engine whatever 'star' badge you can fined must be no smaller than 75mm and no bigger than 85mm in diameter.

It depends on how OCD you are about what under the bonnet looks like, TBH using the wheel cap on mine is not a great look but better than a gaping hole. , besides I happened to have one (p/n B 66 47 0202) laying around and I realised If I bought a brand new front cover for my engine I would need to buy the second part - the air cleaner cover - because the old part of the 2 piece cover would look real bad against the brand new front part. An expensive invisible part on a daily drive car.

Thanks for advise.....I’ve just bought some wheel centre caps today but I’ll see what they are
like when they come back. I am ocd even under the bonnet so I’ll have to decide then as I want it bang on

If you are OCD under the bonnet forget using a wheel cap centre. You will not be happy with it.
