C63 estate selling advice sought

I'm thinking of selling mine, slowly.

1) What do you think is the best place to sell privately? Are enthusiasts on this forum interested in estates? There are much fewer estates (especially around £30k) so I just need to target the correct audience and don't know whether that is here or only through main dealers (no use to me).

2) What about Tier 1 warranties, are they transferable?

3) I typically part ex and buy through main dealers. Worst case scenario, anyone know of smaller dealers on here who would match a MB (or BMW) part ex price so at least someone other than a main dealer benefits?

My car is registered May 2010, 27k miles, Iridium silver with 19" alloys. But this is not an advert for the car, just seeking advice.

Thanks for any tips.

Try pistonheads, mine went within a few days on there. It was traders who were interested not private punters.

You are right, there are far fewer estates about.

Dealers offered me very poor prices to buy it, so someone would snap it it - I doubt you would get anywhere near 30k as an offer though, sorry to break it to you.

I know I won't get near that from a dealer. On MB used site they are mostly facelift models so just saying if someone only had around £30k where would they look?

you should get £30k selling it privately, but can be a bit of hassle.

Just sold my wife's Range Rover at we buy any car. They offered 10% more than our local Land Rover dealership offered in p/x.

Good luck with the sale.

Put the details into webuyanycar as they tend to offer more than most dealers offer, and I would say that on £30k the difference between private sales and dealer prices is around 10%, so £3k. And the dealer margin on these will be around £3k too, so you will probably get no more for a private sale as you would from a dealer.

Problem you have is most buyers will not look at age on these imho, they will look at whether it is pre or post facelift and the milage. I couldn't careless if it was a 2009 or 2010, however a facelift 2011 would get me paying more.

Definitely try webuyanycar though, they often surprise.

You sure? Webuyanycar offered me about 32k and the dealers 30k. That was last May for a 2010 PPP car pretty well specced up.

Try Pistonheads, for the sake of a few quid it is worth a go - just avoid any obvious scams.

I sold my last two cars on consignment at Nick Whale.

Cost £2k plus VAT but they can offer the buyer finance etc.

I got more in my hand than any other offer. Last one sold in 2 weeks.

Didn't know they do that. I was going to buy a 996 off them a couple of years back. Will get in touch. Thanks.
