Hi we are thinking of buying a C63 estate and wondering why these cars aren't currently selling? they seem to be sitting for months on dealers yards at current price?

what is a fair value for a 20,000 mile car vs 40,000 mile.

We want a C63 but don't want to pay to much to be screwed 2 years down the track on trade-in .

Hello

The market for a second hand £35K car wth a 6.2 v8 in todays climate is probably pretty limited. Deals on new ones even PCP's are pretty good its sometimes worth looking at the figures. Depending on your miles, but them if your looking at a C63 doubt you do big miles?

Also options will affect the price and if its the faclifted model or not. Does it have PP performance pack, or Performance pack plus? etc

What year is the car? I would think a few thousand £'s differnt like for like on year and spec between 20K miles and 40K.

Check the tyres, what service is due and warranty, rear tyres and a service due soon could cost £1500?

What ever you decide on lets be honest in 2 years time you will be 'screwed when you sell it' Its always the wrong spec, colour etc...

there are a couple of early 2008 and 2009 available currently but they are sitting around, same with rs4 estates currently it seems.

Anyone currently purchased or know auction values??

Did you actually read any of that reply that was written for you???

Cheers

yes read the reply, thought some one might of said ive just brought one listed for $35 and got it for $33 we haven't brought a car for a while so were just asking the question . sounds like 35k is far value give or take..

we have been thinking about these estates but aren't close enough to view them.

black 23k seller Specialist Motor Company , Any one know the car or company?

silver 19k private anyone know the car?

whatever they are up for knock £10k off and end up meeting somewhere inbetween.

Market very limited now for big s/h petrol engines. One three yrs old (33kmiles) will be worth about 1/3 new value assuming serviced properly ie in the £20ks

The private one - has 3 new tyres...strange only 3 ??

Ha Ha, the estates are much harder to find as they were built to order - they made around 60-80 examples each year.

Mercedes Finance gives a GFV of around 30k after 3 years so I would start around there...

There is this one at £31k.

2008 MERCEDES-BENZ C CLASS C63 5dr Auto Amg Estate

My point above was it really depends what options you want, Performance Pack seems to add quite a bit of value for example.
Plus you have so much variation from different dealers that you just need to find one at the right price and right options for you.

bet that will eventually go for £20k something, you get a lot of car for your money on such models now. I would hate to think what a new one ordered now will lose over the first yr

thanks for the replys, most helpful and i might wait until 2012 after everyone has updated to the new model :)

£20k sorry i don't think it would..older RS4 Avants are still going for early 20's.

I think he is saying it will sell in the £20s, not for £20,000.

Cars have been holding their value extremely well over the last 18 months or so, after that massive slump when dealers were panic dumping stock, but it is now sorting it self again and the used value are getting more realistic again imho.

I think people have to remember that predicted values for these are around 40% after 3 years and 36k miles.
That is a £56k car, £60k with the options it has, it is now 3 years old and it is at 51% of its value, so doing better than predicted, the residual would have been set at around £24k on that car, so the owner is probably quite happy with his trade in value, which was probably £27k+.

There quite a difference in £20k and £29k, as you say late 20,s for a trade in is about right.

Many cars have held up well over the last 2 years and i think there's some catching up to do. I remember 3 yrs ago i bought a RRS for £30k sold it a year later for £34k, OK i did buy it at good price first off but if i sold it today would/may get £23/24k on a good day.
