c63 health check

hi all just had the car checked over for its health check software etc all good.Then they come out and tell me all for tyres need changing ???? The car has 6,000 mls on clock ??? I said no thankyou I will arrange new tyres my self so I went to my local tyre fitter and got him to check well my fronts have loads of life in them and the backs about 4,000 mls me thinks Mercedes was taking me for a total idiot

How many mm of tread left? Mercedes advise replacing at 3mm although legal limit (local tyre guy) is 1.6mm.

Dealers won't sell an approved used AMG with less than 4mm - or so the dealer who sold me mine told me.

Perhaps they are applying that logic to your car?

Did you buy used? I think they don't sell below 4mm but advise replacing at 3mm.

When I looked at C63 at dealer in Slough they said they wouldnt replace tyre unless under 3mm. I know BMW is 4mm.

no I bought the car new in june that's why I thought it was a bit odd about the tyres to be fair I don't do any race starts in it and just give it blast when ive got nice bit of open road in sport + or manual that's why I got second opinion from my local tyre fitter who just looked at the tyres and said you have loads of life in them.I never use main dealers for tyres you can get same tyre a lot cheaper from good local tyre fitter

But in this weather I would be wanting 4mm, I usually used to changed my tyres at the start on winter rather leave it for another 2-3 and save a few pennies.

Same with mine

I thought Merc wouldn't sell cars with tyres less than 4mm. I would guess they have said change them at 3mm and your local tyre dealer has just applied usual car wear rates.

Because you are driving a powerful RWD car and they are well past their best if they have less than 3mm.

To be honest in the summer I drive mine lower.
