C63 "Hopefully"
Good evening All and Happy New Year. I am in the process of trying to purchase a 2011 125 model. The problem I have is the guy has no service book but has everything service wise printed out from Mercedes. He told me that this is what Mercedes do but I struggle to believe that there is no service book issued with the car. There is loads of paperwork with the car and it all looks ok on the MOT history checker. Can anyone tell me if this is the norm and if not can a service book be bought from Mercedes and stamped by the relevant dealerships. Many thanks Ross

Hi

Welcome. Mercedes did move to an online service book although I’m not sure when this was so it is entirely plausible that he doesn’t have a service book.

If you speak to a MB dealership and give them the reg they should be able to pull off its service history for you to compare with his paperwork.

For info here is a link that explains about it.

Cheers

Ian

Ross, he’s you can purchase a “duplicate” service book, which has words punched through it spelling the word “duplicate”. I bought one last week, they’re £10 from the parts department, you can then ask the servicing dealer(s) to stamp it - you may need to prove that you own the car and perhaps provide invoice/job numbers from the receipts you have. Depending upon how many servicing dealers there have been, and who you speak to, then it could either be a doddle or a pain in the bottom!

There are some, some expensive ones, but Googling them will make you paranoid! Just enjoy the car.

If the current owner has the printed service records from Mercedes then at the bottom on the right is a code that you can enter in to the Mercedes web site and that will bring up all the service history done at Mercedes dealers.

OP, the internet and this forum is full of 'known issues' with a C63. Most of them are 'non' issues for most owners but some of the issues (perceived real or otherwise) could keep you awake at night.

You are looking at getting into a 9 year old performance car, like buying any 9 year old car do research. Asking on here was a first good step.
