Hi All,

I have now had this car for 2 months and I absolutely love it! The one thing I have noticed is when the car is staitionary, ie stopping at the lights or in heavy traffic I have noticed a irregular idle/vibration. There is no EML on the dash and It’s not a major vibration but enough that I can notice it. Sometimes I can see the rev counter needle flicker but when the car is on the move no issues only at stationary. I was think maybe spark plugs related? But wanted to see if anyone else has noticed this or had this issue and whether I should be looking at something else other than spark plugs.

Regards
Naz

If it’s normal then that’s fine, it’s just I don’t recall noticing this in my previous c63.
Will have to wait for more knowledgable people to confirm either way, sorry I can't be more help

Mine never did this in 3 years and 36k miles, so I would say that it's not normal.

Check the spark plug gap.....had same thing on mine and it was due to gap not being set correctly

Thanks Lee c63 I will definitely get this checked and replace all 8 just to be on the safe side, as I had the same hunch that it could be spark plugs related.

Have a quick check of fluid levels also. Particularly oil. Sparks have already been mentioned and worth a look.

Have the same thing on my E63 and was told by the dealer it was a ‘characterstic’ of the car

It has had a recent oil change but I will check this again tomorrow.

Hmmm again if that is the case then fair play but the only reason why it’s bugging me slightly is because I did not notice this on my previous C63. However if that is the case then I can live with it.

Coil pack?

That’s a fair shout, the only reason why I did not think it was coil pack was no EML warning but I could get the specialists to run the diagnostics to rule the coil packs out.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not happy with it, it’s being referred to the dealer

Echoing what I said above, my C63 never did it in 3 years (Naz - your previous one didn't do it either?) so I wouldn't just accept a dealer fob-off of it being "normal" or a "characteristic" of the car.

Morning

Had exactly the same problem with mine, I could feel a slight vibration/ rough idle only when stationary. No loss of power or anything else wrong with engine.

Took it to MB dealer , a "specialist" checked it they said nothing wrong its normal you can drive it. Two weeks later engine management light appeared. It was intermittent sometimes comes on and the rough idle was worse at some points.

Diagnostic check was a misfire replaced spark plugs and coil packs and runs fine.

Hi RickMM that is correct my previous car didn't do this, I think have enough info here to look into Sparks/Coli Packs...thanks all!

On the US forum, they are also mentioning checking engine mounts as well
