Been looking at the nissan gtr 3.8's lately and they're going down in price a lot. I'm not at all bored with the merc yet but just wondered what pros and cons would be between the two??

Can't compare on performance as I haven't driven both but the GTR is MASSIVE!

No comparison really, C63 is a practical family car......A GTR is a track car.
GTR will leave it for dead from a standstill, but a tuned C63 (re-map) will keep within touching distance.
A S/C C63 will leave a standard GTR driver thinking WTF in a straight line from a rolling start ha ha.

They're pretty different cars, really. You'd do well to shoehorn a couple of big kids in the back of a GTR for any length of time, let alone adults with decent sized front seat passengers.

If I didn't need any practicality, I'd love a GTR. Not sure if it's the most refined of vehicles for every day use though (but I'd live with it).

Contender for biggest car with smallest cabin, surely? :)

the GTR is on another level of performance in my opinion. Awesome technology, amazing power, and very driveable.

But it's large on our roads and much more expensive than a C63 to run which is scary!

Questionable interior too, but what a machine!

    I would love one.

Take the GTR out for a good long test drive and see how you get on with it.

I don't have a want for one but I do think wow when I see one.

Each to their own though, Everyone I know seems to think they are amazing etc etc

GTR considering it has rear seats, a massive boot, air conditioning music subs etc etc and still has incredible performance Is light years away from s C63 imo for the whole package

A gtr when driven normally and can be a comfortable daily driver if you wanted and still have the capabilities to be an absolute beast on a track

remember a Nismo GTR (which isn't that much more tuned than stock!)

To be honest... its a Nissan.

The German branding = higher class.

I test drove a 2010 standard GTR whilst looking for a new car about 18 months ago, one word phenomenal!!!!.

As said in one of the posts above it's usability & drivability has to be tried to be believed.

Unfortunately I (I mean my wife) :D couldn't justify squeezing the 2 kids with car seats in the back although I tried everyway to convince her that they'd fit :thumb: she was having none of it, so we ended up with an e60 M5.

Test drive both on a nice long run and see how they stack up to what you need/want.

Nice choice to have though C63 or GTR?

I used to drive Honda's (loved my Civics) before I switched... performance wise the GTR is the nuts.

Nissan can't beat that German branding.

I agree with that test drive... it will bring out what you want/need.

Probably but I wouldn't pull up alongside and wave at the driver of the Gtr then put my foot down while bragging to my wag wife ( sunderland football player)......bless him he was gutted when the C 63 left him for dead with 2 lengths of skirting board resting between the arm rest (seats dropped).:bannana:

Like I said a stage 2 would have no problem, and a try taking on a GTR when it's wet ;-)

Lee, from a static start not much can cope with 4 wheel drive traction GTR launch control...Mr May certainly liked it:D

Well the Datsun looks like the animal it is.the merc looks like a classy super saloon.the Datsun would trounce the merc in the speed stakes, but so what?i would have the merc plenty fast enough.

Pointless making any decision until you go and try one.

Worst case if you buy it and its not suitable, you've spent a few K having a go :)
