Guys/Gals, returning member here ;)

Looking to change my car around August/Sept, the question is I love the C63AMG, the exhaust note alone is worth the money!! But I also love the FX50S, more practical, very distinctive styling and its a 4WD, so I don't need extra expense of winter tyres for the Merc!

I understand both cars has similar fuel consumptions, think overall the FX might be slightly cheaper to run??!!

I am asking you guys here for your opinions...

I'll probably get some biased views, but I guess i am kind of waiting for you lot to talk me into it, LOL

Any advise would be much appreciated

Kin

I don't see how these are comparable. One is a reasonably taught performance car the other is a over powered Chelsea tractor.

On this forum you are likely to get one answer.

For me (I am biased), it has to be the C63.

I would not consider a 4wd SUV, I have never seen the point of them unless you need to go off road and you may need to, I never do.

I agree.

If you want a fast 4x4 buy a ML63 imo.

I bet you can get a brand new C63 on lease or PCP much cheaper too.

Not to mention the fact that the C63 will be more fun. And let's face it, we all need a little fun when we can get it on our roads.

Yes , my heart says C63, my head say FX, I actually put deposit down on a AMG two years ago, chopped it in on C250CDI in the last minute, due to an investment opportunity.
I'll be test driving the FX later this week, and then I'll decide...

Just had a quick look online and IMO the FX is not even nice to look at and its not even a realistic comparison you should be looking at RR or Cayene not a c63! if you want a powerfull 4x4 what about the new Bowler thing!

Tony.

I can't even see the comparison here?...Am I missing something???

Guessing similar lease cost, similar passenger and luggage capacity and a big v8 engine. Slightly more practicality on one hand vs more fun on the other. Not such an unreasonable comparison when you think about it.

I'm not into the C63 at all - but with that choice - it would definitely be a C63!

I'm not going to answer the OP's question as the answer is obvious!

A few years ago I would have agreed with you but since having kids we have had one as the family run around. We currently have an ML, I say currently Mrs Blonde is after a new car and likes the new RRS (I am arguing for anew ML), as the family car as its nice to have the kids up high, there's lots of space for the kitchen sink and... I live in the middle of no where down a private lane that floods as soon as the first spots of rain fall :-)

I have not driven a C63, but had a Fx50s for about a week and you can soon tire of it.

If you look at the C63 estate, then at least you get a similar amount of practicality.

Why did you said that? Just interested in your opinion.
Had a test drive in their Sebastian Vettel all £130k worth, as they did not have the standard 5.0S in, the exhaust note was awesome!
