I seem to attract a lot of jealous people and idiots... It's the first car I have had that seems to attract this and I'm a bit baffled. Considering it's not particularly flashy and fairly discreet compared to others I've had I don't understand it and it's ruining my enjoyment :(

So far this is the events:

1. People tailgating me a lot
2. Various expletives at the lights from someone who said my car was too loud
3. Guy by my office put fag out on car windscreen then spat on it as I parked outside his house
4. Chap on pavement threw hard object denting my door a week after getting car resulting in expensive repair.
5. Today parked outside my office plugging route into sat nav and scummy looking guy decides to barge into my mirror pushing it in with a loud crack. Luckily it isn't broken. Then he decided to give me all sorts of hand signals as I drove off. (I decided not to have a row outside my place of work)

I'm getting a bit upset about it as I'm constantly worrying now that someone is going to damage it!

Sign of the times we live in.....people can't be happy or just leave people to live their lives because they are unhappy with their own.

Decat it.....will probably make you more hated but least it shows you don't care

Jealousy mate I'm afraid. If some bloke from my work stubbed his fag out on my car and spat on it, that fag would be his last for a long time because I'd break his ****ing jaw!!

Sounds like you've been unlucky but I wouldn't be standing around watching people wreck your car.

Interesting you should mention this because although I get nothing like the problems in my SL when I first had my Boxster it would seem every driver of a black Audi would race me, with the top down I would hear a car revving it's nuts off to race me and low and behold it was a black Audi. It was so common it was tedious, it is obvious that jealousy was the only motive for such childish behaviour. Just let the tailgaters past and hope for an unmarked cop car (some hope) and turn your stereo up and don't make eye contact.

In all the time I've been on this forum - I've only seen hatred to C63 owners / drivers so it does bear out what you have experienced.

Why? I have no idea. Insecurity...?

There are plenty of more expensive cars owned by others on here which don't attract the same attention.

I'd have thought envy but individuals are free to buy whatever car they want.

Some strange folk around.

Have to say I don't work with these people they seem to be people who live locally to my office.

Problem is I operate a business there so must keep my cool as it would reflect locally.

Really disappointing as my M3 always had positive comments :(

I get absolutely nothing of the sort in my E63. Nothing.

It is stupid.

What's annoying is the area my office is situated is actually very affluent and the area I live in is not particularly wealthy yet I get no issues locally by my house!!!

There you have it the people are all overstretched and green with envy

Estate agent I'd venture :D.

Having worked in Brum for 7 years, albeit 8 years ago, I have to say it's typical of some people in the area.

They see your car and make an assumption about you the owner which is born from their own jealous nature.

I don't get any issues in my E55 but then again it's a cheap 12 year old car so I guess nothing to be jealous of.

I've never had this experience with my car but then E55s are quite understated looking.

I get the flash brigade do their thing when overtaking sometimes but I presume this is appreciation at the exhaust modifications I've had done.

I get the flash brigade alot also and I don't have any nice exhaust mods like you John.

Although I must admit to reving the car under a bridge this afternoon on the specific request from my little girl.

I guess that must make me a kind of local yahoo.

Golden.

Sorry to hear this....jealously is not a nice trait.

What you need is an old 2005 E55k 7 Seater Estate! Looks are not high in the agenda....it doesn't stand out at all. De-badged the only thing you notice is the quad exhausts. Ultimate Q-car. I don't have any issues in this or the SL. Never had an issue in the Maser either.

This is all in Stourbridge I have to say Brum City Centre I've had nothing but admiration. I was sat in a bar the other day and a couple lads took pictures of themselves stood behind it which is a bit odd but Stourbridge just seems to be full of muppets!

Must admit selling it is now starting to enter my head because it's becoming a burden worrying about where I park :(

Have thought about buying a cheap CLS55 and running that as its a bit less racy but why should I have to. :wallbash:

That situation can be changed by handing over some beer tokens to Imran at Torqueflow!

Cool dad!

I remember once pulling into the bit outside by garage and these two young kids (maybe 10/11) were approaching as I slightly accelerated to get round a tight turn. One of them shouted "Whoaaaaaaa" and turned to see what it was. Most amusing and I took it as confirmation of successful choice of engine and exhaust modifications! :D

I suppose some of this is luck of the draw, but in 3.5 years of ownership I've not really had any bad experiences like that. I sometimes get people at the lights encourage me to "give it some revs" or someone at the petrol station say "fk me look at the size of those brake discs!" :)

Also the usual "people wanting to have a race" but even then it seems to be good natured fun. Maybe I've just been lucky!
