I'm asking members in here with more idea than me, now the new model c63/s is out , what do the members think on the prices of the older models 08/09 plate cars , do they think they are going to drop by a large amount, or do they think they will remain the same ?

New models generally are going to force an older models price down but couldn't tell you by how much. As the new C63 is out now this has probably already happened.

Having said that, if people view the car as something hugely special it might have no difference at all. Cannot say I've seen that many of them in the UK so that might help keep their prices up.

Supply and demand ;)

The good, low milage, we spec'd explamples will still hold decent money imo. ESP the 507 editions

I don't agree that the new model will force prices down at all.

As mentioned the cars with the right spec and decent miles will keep their value. Mercedes themselves control the used car market and they will not be suddenly wiping thousands off cars (and their balance sheets) because the new one came out.

Look at E92 m3's. Good examples are still on AUC for between £35 & £40k with the new F80 having used cars at less than £50k. That's only £10k diff between new and old models :thumb:

Give it a year.

At the moment the gap between the old and new is just to big to make any difference in price. But as mentioned when the new model starts to drop then it may have an impact but even then i don't think it will be to much. If you compare to the RS4 when the B8 came out a few years back it made very little to the residuals of the B7.

The problem will be that the old C63 will soon look dated.

Not only will it become dated but high mileage examples will be purchased by the "alright init brov" brigade which will lower them even more. Look on autotrader 08/09 cars with high miles are already under £22K

Hi Guys, I'm currently searching for a 2013/14 C63 and I think the new model has impacted on used prices. 2014 low spec, low mileage cars are available for £40k from franchised MB dealers. I also have an eye on a new model M3 and year old examples are typically £10k more than a year old C63. I did originally want a new model C63 (none S) but I'm finding it hard to justify the extra £20k. In comparison a new M3 is only £5k more than used, as bigger discounts are available and year olds are at least £50k. Decisions, decisions.

I do think that people who are looking to pay 40k on the older model, may be tempted to go all out and go for the newer model, after such great reviews, then leaving the dealers with high stocks of the older models, which in turn, means they will have to discount the older model , to sell them.

You'll spend £20k extra on fuel in the first few years with the old model :p But joking aside the new model looks to be a large jump forwards in most areas so probably is worth the extra £20k however doesn't mean the last gen is a bad car either.

All depends on there budget. If its 40k then there hardly going to more or less double it.

Im sorry, but the last gen C63 is not going to look dated.

I hate that dam term anyways. What a load of ********.

I just think if people have a budget of 40k there going to feel that they want a whole lot more for there money , with a newer and better model being out

I've seen a 08 model with 50k for 19k - coming down rightly

I think I'll bide my time for the FL model dropping within budget

A forum car would be a great buy

Agree with Grovsie, the w204 C63 is a timeless shape IMO

Yeah but a Good spec new c63s is £70-£75k which is nearly double. I think that's too much of a gap personally

It's looking like i might have to part company with mine unfortunately after just 6wks following a restructuring at work which is going to impact my earning potential.
My car is a nov 2012 '62' coupe in diamond white, 5800 miles, red designo leather, harmon kardon enhanced audio, black 19in amg alloys, privacy glass and reversing camera and i have been offered 34k for it, i just need to decide whether to bring the axe down on it now to get rid of the worry or wait until my hand is forced.

Have they created a permanent window in your schedule in order to allow you to consider broadening your employment experience elsewhere in the marketplace ?

There will be no redundancies but overtime won't be the same as we are losing 5 regions to sub contractors. Unfortunately the C63 would be the first luxury item to go.

But to do a new model properly you are looking at spending 80k. I had a budget of circa 40k and bought an M5. So much car for the money.
