Hi All,

My 2014 C63 (standard) is up for a service and to maintain the extended warranty (purchased by the previous owner) I need to get it serviced by a main dealer.

Whilst I'm reasonably happy to do this, they tell me that in addition to the standard service at £339 it also need the air filter at £74 and gearbox oil/filter at £389 taking the total to £802 inc VAT.

When questioned over the need for the gearbox oil/filter they took ages to establish the frequency of change and originally said every 4 years then every 3 - when I pointed out mine's not 4 years old.

Can anyone confirm that it is 3 years or are they just trying to fleece me more than normal

Cheers,

Joe

Gearbox oil flush is 3rd year and is one time only apparently.

4th year is spark plugs and 2nd brake fluid change.

Service plan is good value for 3&4 years as these are the most expensive.

I concur. Once at 3 years or 30k. Service plan for multiple B services is a value IMHO.

Read your manual, 3 years.

£389 for an ATF change is a joke.
No wonder MB want to do the servicing to keep the warranty:wallbash:

Push them to do the TCU software update. I just had it done on a 2013 model. Makes quite a difference, much smoother upshifts in C, quicker in S+, no longer gets confused holding onto gears too long in C and the jerkiness in low speed stop start city driving is much improved.
