all fixed yet ?

hi mate fitted new tyres yesterday, feels a load better yeah. I can still feel a bit of tension in the steering wheel on throttle when cornering though but perhaps this is just how the C63 is built? its not a loose/flappy steering feeling!! first one ive driven so nothing to compare against....

Have you got previous experience of hydraulic steering or only electric?

Electric is usually lighter and wants to self centre more. Often feels a bit 'loose/flappy' on boring cars.

Hydraulic tends to give more feedback but the self centre action is only really from the castor angle in the suspension rather than an electric motor gently pushing back.

Yeah exactly. We've had a few posts on here from people that have come back from EPAS to a W204 with the lovely feelsome hydraulic rack. The weight and tactile feedback can be a bit of a shock.

hi mate no never had hydraulic steering before. i wouldnt say its pulling the steering back as per lane assist, just that u can feel some kind of tension through the wheel on cornering when accelerating - is that normal then?

Yes.

Proper steering weights up when you're cornering and you feel it go lighter if you're reaching the limits of grip.

There is an initial level of stiction with hydraulic steering as you only really get assistance after you've provided some input.

Just been out to do some road testing and noticed the vibrations thro steering wheel only happen when cornering in C mode. Cornering in S, S+ and manual are all fine. Not Sure if this helps diagnose at all.

Same as the gearbox judder from stationary is only in C mode.
