C63 V8 coupe

Not really relevant though as this was never a factory build, so it’s not going to influence the OPs buying decisions etc.

People have grafted all sorts of stuff into different vehicles over the years. The 212 chassis was designed before the 157 came out but that doesn’t seem to have been a particular obstacle so I can’t see a huge issue fitting a 157 into a 207, especially as they fitted the 278 into these anyway with the (relatively rare) E500
True.....but it was just a reply that I thought some might find interesting.... I was not suggesting it as a serious option for the OP
Lots getting very sensitive to the slightest thing on here at the moment!

Not at all sensitive, apologies if it came over a bit blunt! :)

I think the misunderstanding started earlier in the thread. OP is looking for a 6.2 204 coupé

Thanks for all your input guys, been looking at what’s about including one listed on this forum & AT. There’s a PPP car on AT which includes a LSD, can I ask if anyone on here knows about the car below & what options it has fitted..??
Thanks in advance
Jon

Just be aware there are plenty of dealers out there that think the LSD is standard on the ppp cars and its NOT also they seem to think edition 125 is worth a premium it's not the only difference is a sticker 😉
No LSD on the car above, its option 471

I’d look out for a low miler :thumb:

Ok, so either the seller is assuming a LSD or he’s none the wiser..
Thanks 👍

Typical seller tbh👍the vin no never lies I had ACID at MSL do mine within the 1st couple of days🙂

If I was looking at the same ad, it's listed as a private seller but to me reads like a traders ad.

I’m not looking for any particular colour, just one with all the essential repairs carried out, FSH, good clean MOT history, sensible miles & not too many owners - there’s a few out there that fit the bill, I’m waiting to hear back from the dealer regarding my 911.

Going cheap, price might be negotiable? This might be an easy repair by an independent body shop using second hand parts where possible 🤔 This isn't C63 though, it's later model C43, V6 engine.

Blimey, that looks cheap & a fairly simple fix, a bit more than I wanted to spend but thanks for the heads-up

Hard to find a good one these days, unfortunately alot of people buy them thinking they can afford to run them and keep up with normal maintenance and preventative maintenance.

Bought mine brand new that I optioned myself, the only thing that has gone wrong in 12 years is a thermostat, coolant cap and condenser which are all common problems (& thats with a highly modified car). If you look after the car/or it’s been looked after properly it will look after you.

Honestly with these cars now you are probably best buying a private car off the C63 UK Facebook group which most will have been looked after better as people are always asking how to.

As they are getting older now there will be alot of things to do for age related items and for prevention. For instance if you don’t/or it hasn’t had the injections replaced there is a good chance of hydrolocking which then the engine is done for, also if the correct maintenance has not been done/correct brands and warm up/cool down you will get more wear on the cams and buckets which will also need changing depending on the wear. The same if no preventative maintenance has been done then the next owners are going to inherit big bills.

At this age now all the below should have been done on W204 C63’s

- PCV valve
- Valve Covers & gaskets
- Coolant & Oil Cap
- Injectors
- Belts and pulleys
- Inlet Manifold Gaskets & manifold inspection as they corrode due to being magnesium
- Lower arms
- Cam adjusters maybe

The rest of the car needs a good checking over for wear like with any other car on the suspension and bodywork.

If you need anything else feel free to ask any questions.

Are 204 C63's prone to the rear subframe corrosion issue, or did AMG sprinkle some of its magic on that too?

Yes they are, not seen many but they do happen, Mercedes is doing them under warranty though (most likely until the car is 20 year old to go along with paint warranty for rust)
