C63 W204 oil - 5w40?

hi all

what's the best oil for the car, 6.2 ? 5w40 fully syth? or 5W30?

do I need to look for MB 229.5 compatible. ? or is it 229.51

anything else to look for?

currently got 5w40 in it and seems fine. service due in 6-8 weeks.

car has 72k miles on it.

229.5 and 5W40 although you can also use 0W40.

Mercedes Petronas, Shell Helix or Mobil 1 are all commonly used.

Seems like MB are quoting 5W-40 for AMG, and 5W-30 for everyone else - maybe AMG engines run hotter? No idea...

Every service I've had done at either indy or main dealer with my E55 or E63, the oil used was 5w/40 229.5
Looking at the E63 service history before I bought it, the first service was done using 5w/40

just ordered 10 litres from them and got 10% off too so 10 litres of 5w40 for 38 squids. result.

I'm going to switch to 5w-40 in my W211 E63 - and preference on brand (pretty sure there isn't a Mobil 1 that you can get in the UK)?
