C63S Rear Diff Oil Change!

On behalf of a new (to him) C63S Owner:

Apparently the Rear Diff needs an Oil change at 1,800 Miles, this has been missed by the Dealer that sold him the Car!

Is the Oil Change at Cost to the owner, or is it part of the "Running In Servicing" (before your blast it) regime?

I am haveing great difficulty in anyone at MB Wakefield to get back re diff oil change on my C63s at1875 miles sticker in window as to the salesman saidthat I am to pay for this? They didn’t even know about this until phoned them. Haveing just bought it a month ago with 80 miles on the clock and after 3 phone calls dealership for service manager to confirm that Mb should pay for this, there seems to be a refusal to reply and leave me in the cold ,Unbelievable lack of customer care.
I would appreciate advice on what to do? I more frustrated with being ignored!

I would get it arranged with another dealership either directly or through MB UK customer service, mentioning the poor service you are receiving from your dealer.

The cost is covered by Merc...

Theoretically it's a no cost to the owner service, though don't hold your breath if you get a dealer who's ignorant of this fact.

I bought mine (E Class but the same diff) as an ex-demo with c2,000 miles on it from down in Essex. Took it home, read about this oil change so asked at my local (Lancashire) dealer if they had any records on their system of it being done. Nothing showing and there was a distinct lack of communication between dealerships. My local dealer suggested that they could do it for me at a cost of £150. I declined this offer and ended up doing it myself.

At least I know it's done right now, and at considerably less cost.

Mercedes dealer quoted £180.00 for rear differential oil change and specialist did the oil change for £110.00
