From NCAP -

"Starting from 2010, Euro NCAP Advanced rewards and recognizes car manufacturers who make available new safety technologies which demonstrate a scientifically proven safety benefit for consumers and society."

Seems they think it all works in a beneficial way?

NCAP's own assessment covered the seatbelt part and possibly seating position ... no mention of anything else
How has the system been assessed?

Analysis was done of the forward movement of occupants during heavy braking and the effect of removing slack from the seatbelt was established. By looking at crash tests using different dummy positions, the effect of optimising occupants’ seating position before the start of the impact could then be determined.

Don't get me wrong - I think it's great technology. But based on the speed that the windows etc. move on my cars I don't see how they could possibly close in time for most types of accident. They'd need to respond as quickly as (say) the roll bar on the SL ... which fires in a fraction of a second if a rollover is predicted.
