Calipers

Well, after nearly a year I have eventually got around to painting the callipers on my W204. This is the paint I used here
All the “Barry” colours are £27, black and silver shelf price £10, but if you reserve and collect online, black and silver are just £5, bargain!
The callipers were not removed as I could paint as much as required with car up on axle stands. Brake rotor hubs were also painted. As usual, wheel bolts were looking cr@p after just over a year and these were treated as follows; 2 coats of zinc rich primer followed by 2 coats of lacquer.
I know this is not a long term fix, but they look ok for now until I get some better quality rust resistant bolts.
Total time taken about 3 hours.

I've ordered the black stuff from halfords for £5. as you say, a bargain.

do you know if 1 is enough to paint all 4 calipers? or will i need two?

There was enough for all four calipers, all four brake disc hubs and some left over. As I said, I didn't remove the calipers, you will use a little more if you do. I was hoping to use the rest on the bike but it goes of in a couple of days even in an air tight can.

collected my black stuff last night. Very good for £5. It did have a '£5' sticker on the box though so not sure if it was just an online price or not.....

A wire brushing and washing off with brake cleaner should sufice

Sounding like good advice to me - I wouldn't want to do all that work and have the paint lift off

A good wire brushing first as previously mentioned, you get the brake cleaner in the kit, 400ml I think which was plenty. The kit was still marked at £10 at my local 'Frauds
