Anyone playing this yet? Got my copy today and the game looks amazing.

I am playing it and i do like it but i like batterfield 3 too, are you on ps3 or xbox?

i'm waiting for Skyrim. i gave call of duty a bye after modern warfare 2

Got it on Monday morning, didn't take long to complete so I'm a bit disappointed to be honest, BF3 is much better imo.

MW3 could do with being a lot longer story wise but then it has to be scaled back to accomodate the xbox360/dvd disc capacity rather than bluray.

PS3, Battlefield 3 looked good but I enjoyed the online multiplayer side of Black Ops so thought I'd stick with MW3. Not enough hours in the day for two FPS's!!

I started straight away on the multiplayer. How is the multiplayer side of things on BF3?

finished both MW3 and BF3 i preferred the story in MW3 as it was a continuation to the story of soap, price and makarov.

BF3 didn't grab me.

incidentally, when you start playing skyrim you'll not care either way about them... i'm not an elder scrolls fan and i've been playing it non stop for a week and a bit (don't ask how i got it)

off to play saints row 3 now

I've resisted MW3 so far as I don't have much free time at the moment. Enjoyed the first two though.

Yeah... got mine the evening of day of release at Asda.

I bought my PS3 in 2008 when Modern Warfare (COD4) was out so I am a vet. I love 4, 5 and 6.

I've gone for each title since and sold it on when bored a few months later when at 55 / 65 etc. for a long time.

I was disappointed with Black Ops (COD7) but MW3 seems to be doing the figures.

I only play multiplayer - not interested in the the ingame.

I daren't buy anything else as I know how time consuming these games are.

Can wholly recommend it if you like online moydering...

I have no idea what any of you are talking about - :dk:

Does that make me an old boring git? :D

Nope, just means you ain't into gaming :)

We'll leave the name calling to the kids who seem to enjoy that sort of thing ;)

Help/Advice.. Please

So far I have enjoyed all the FPS games on my PC. Last week I got the usual but not that often update for the Graphic Card, which gave it a 3D capability (which I won't use) it then went on to check the Graphic Card as to compatibility to play MW3...the Computer said No. Recommended an upgrade.

Rang the computer people (Aldi 1 year left out of a 3 year warranty/guarantee)
They said that yes I would need to upgrade the Graphic Card, which, surprisingly, they said I could do my self, but keep hold of & re install if ever I needed to return it during the next year. However I I would need to upgrade the Power Supply & that would need a "Certified ? Qualified ? engineer.

They also said that my nice little PC wasn't intended for gaming & were quite surprised when I told them I did quite a bit on it when it was in Windows Vista not so much in 7.

Now the advice, if you could please ? Up grade the PC. Buy a XBox (25% off in Sainsburys but with subscriptions to pay) or a Play Station. I know nothing about Xbox or Play Station, can I play then through my monitor..it has a DVI input ?

er Help ?:dk:

i've found that there are two camps when it comes to FPS

PC gamers and Console gamers,

I'm a console gamer, i can't use the keyboard to play a FPS, I never seen couterstrike in the same way as my more tech-savy mates

my mate Barrie is a PC gamer and he only plays FPS' on a PC (even though he owns an xbox)

so I would say, you should upgrade the PC if that's what you're used to because you'll enjoy it more.

and I don't think you can play an xbox through a monitor but i'm not certain.

I got fed up upgrading my PC to play the latest games, so ended up getting a PS3, takes a bit of getting used to the controls, but I've never regretted it,

Only had MW3 since yesterday and only really play online, I like it a lot better than Black Ops and has even grabbed me more than MW2 did in the first few days. The frame rate seems higher than Black Ops and despite the odd connection problem it is nowhere near as bad as the first few weeks of Black Ops server crashes.

Similar story here.

Hundreds of pounds every 10 seconds for the latest Nvidia GeForce GT Turbo Raider Razor Power Play 99000 Series Panzer Pro Glide Defector graphics card with 16 Picobytes of onboard memory - or the £300 I paid and haven't spent a dime on since in nearly 4 years...

Controller is analogue also when compared to the keyboard. Once you get used to it - it is great.

I did have a slight advantage in that I've had a PS2 since 2001, but prior to that, any time I used a PS or PS2 controller, they are intuiative.

As for playing them through your monitor - it would be possible if you have HDMI on your monitor, but I suspect it might not.

You could get away with SCART but your monitor almost certainly wont have that.

It's a "through the TV" job.

Modern PC monitors often do have HDMI ... that's how my Dell PC is connected up.

But for gaming I'd much rather play from the comfort of my sofa on a 42" 1080p screen with a decent sound system!

Mrs BTB probably uses the PS3 more than I do - for iPlayer, 4OD, etc. It's our Blue Ray/DVD player too, so the kids watch films via it.

I now only run specialist stuf stuff on the PC e.g. an r/c flight simulator that I use for practicing aerobatics and improving my heli flying.
