Hi Everyone,

Is there a way to call a 0844 number for free from a mobile phone?

No, it's not one of those rude numbers either. :)

Thanks guys.

Unfortunately the number I was trying to replace has no alternative but the site has given me some other ideas which may be useful. :thumb:

The 08/03 numbers always deliver to a standard geographical number. Why not just ask the company for the number , they might take pitty and give it to you if you promice not to band it about so they can't cream their .5p per min from the call cost.

Sometimes you can find an equivalent geographic number:

SAYNOTO0870.COM - Non-Geographical Alternative Telephone Numbers

Alternatively find out if there is an 'if calling from abroad" option for whoever you're you're intending to phone.

Some of those 'if calling from abroad" are designed to only accept internation calls to them. I remember when i worked for demon that was the case with the international dial up number that they had.

A while ago Vodafone started charging for 0844 numbers.

02 still had the 0844 numbers included in your inclusive minutes allowance which was great. However around a year ago 02 started charging for these numbers. :( My mobile bill was quite modest until 02 charged for the numbers.

Is there a way I could connect to 0844 via my unlimited mobile internet allowance?

There must be some loophole I can exploit. :)

TIA.

Paul.
