Does anyone have any experience of / advice on camcorders that have a phone app for remote control?
My 8 year old Panasonic just died - that has an IR remote (as did the Sony I had before that), but such things don't seem to exist any more. I use the remote all the time for playback - reviewing footage on the TV with Mrs BTB and BTB Junior (we all compete in dog agility and video our runs to see afterwards what could have been done better). So typically we'd watch 9 or 10 short videos together after a day's competing ... using pause, slow motion, frame forward/reverse, etc. Most videos would then be deleted, with just the odd (exceptionally good ) one kept for transfer to the PC / editing / upload to YouTube.
Details of what can be done via the phone apps on current camcorders are a bit sketchy though ... this isn't really covered in the spec. of the camcorder itself. So any advice welcomed!
