Can a 1991 500E ever be worth £70k?

Its not the silver arrows car. That one is 20k. The 70k car is for sale elsewhere as a POA and I discussed buying it with the vendor. But at 70k I am oot.

It would only be worth that much if it came with a suitcase in the boot full of cash lol dream trader, would expect it to be for sale for an eternity at that price...

What's the mileage on this ex-museum car? I'd love to know how they came to '£70k' for a price, guided on what I wonder?

Most collectable or classic cars have gone through the roof in the last 12 months. Many have unrealistic ideas of what these things are worth, much like the property market really.

23k miles (not klms as has a UK speedo)

I don't see the big deal
Why can't a mint one be worth 70 k?

The "I need something that nobody else has got & I want something to stand out from the rest of the crowd - in something credible" can be a powerful driver in the financial world where 70 000 can be made during smoko if one isn't careful.

Is there a particular reason as to why you are not revealing the car in question ?

It's the one at Bramley and its £60k. Chap was very nice on phone and asked me to check it out.

Has been on the market for ages and will be at that price.

It was 70k when I called them yesterday.

Sounds like it goes up by 10k every time someone calls . As said, when I called it was £50k!

The market is being flooded with Jap imports at the moment. Lots classics coming over. No way the mileage can be verified.

Very true ! Loads in Germany right now if you browse on mobile.de . Some dealers advertise while the car is still in Japan with photos of service history file, but then goes missing when it lands in Europe.

Also many Japanese low mileage cars can be pretty worn out as they have sat in Tokyo traffic all day.
