CL500
I'm thinking of buying a CL500 parts for my 2003 CL500. I only have the Reg and the chassis of the doner car. The badges say AMG but I didn't have a proper look (exhausts etc). How can I find out if it is an AMG ?

Non Kompressor models have 2x tailpipes, Kompressor have 4.

A CL 500 isn't an AMG - sounds like someone just stuck some badges on it. The V8 AMG version was the CL 55.

As above. Only the CL55 was an AMG designated CL model at that time.
Someone thought it would look cool with an AMG badge but it doesn't fool those that know☺

As above. The car can be either CL500 (non-AMG), or CL55/CL63 (AMG), but not both....

The confusion arises because some people just stick an AMG badge on their car, but also because Mercedes Benz offer AMG-designed trim-bits on their non-AMG cars.

So so you could (for example) buy a CL500 (non-AMG), fitted with AMG wheels. The wheels will say 'AMG'. But the car isn't an AMG... confusing indeed.

None that I'm aware of. Even the 3.0CDI w203 was badged as C30 AMG
