Left the pub car park in a bit of a hurry last night to catch the start of the rugby....
Standing start, 2 miles, less than a minute, not a bad average speed !
All verified by MercedesMe of course.

Does this make me a driving god ?

I wouldn't brag with evidence on social media if I were you [emoji16]

Actually, some of the route home is restricted to 30mph, so you can only imagine what my top speed must have been !!

If it is true I think you know what it makes you.

Or is Mercedes me routinely grossly inaccurate?

Never really had reason to doubt it in the past

So you are claiming that you managed to average 168mph on public roads in under a minute( presumably in the UK and bearing in mind Pubs are not found on motorways) just so you did not miss the start of a rugby match on an evening when most of the country had either snow or sub zero temperatures?

You also brag that some of the roads had 30mph limits,

If true it makes you an irresponsible idiot who should not be allowed to drive.

;) do you really think that is likely or even possible?
Just showing you what MercedesMe said.
I'd be pretty confident that there's no vehicle on the road anywhere that could do that.

Interestingly, my wife seemed completely un-phased by the journey back.

Struggling to see the point of this thread? :dk:

Almost. I'd try to get over 180 next time. The stretch allows it.

It also makes the driving gods of MBClub to come out of the woodwork.

Don't worry though, as soon as you say something back they'll publicly announce that they added you to their armlong ignore list and won't bother you no more.

Isn't that a Daimler moment, you know the best or nothing and he got nothing...?

No, it's pretty funny.

I was logging a walk with my Fitbit once, and it had some kind of navigational meltdown and claimed I averaged 40mph for the journey.

Google Maps could not cope with us flying from Bournemouth airport to the Isle of Wight in 20 minutes and just labelled it "Implausible journey"

Some people in here actually thought he drove this quickly?
Cringeworthy naivety.
OP - good thread which shows the limitations of digital data.

People do and those people often post and boast on here.

If you bother to read the thread in context I asked if Mercedes me was known to be inaccurate, the OP continued to post suggesting he had achieved excessive speed so do we know doubt the veracity of people posting or does the forum need pointless wind up threads that only contribute towards antagonism?

Do not bother replying it is a rhetorical question.
