Sorry if sounds like a silly question but I am new to washing cars and am going to use the two bucket and grit guard method and have noticed some people saying that even after just a few washers that the lambs wool mitt is starting to come away, can you recommend a good strong but soft mitt that will work with the above gritguard.Cheers .

I'm pretty sure mine is Maquires - and has lasted well - but I hand wash it after every use. I also do not use it "below the waist line" or on the wheels - for these dirty parts of the car I use a microfibre mitt than can be machine washed (at no more than 50C, no fabric conditioner!!) which the sheepskin mitt can't.

Get a Dooka wash pad, indestructible...almost! Seriously these are great quality and mines as good as the day I bought it.

Dolly the sheep :D

Have been using the Noodle mits , which can be bought From Halfords, these are nice thick quality ones

Go to the Sheepskin Shop as first first post.
First of all price - you get 2 for approx £20, and they are huge.
Secondly quality - they are pure lambswool, and manufactured from one piece, not sewed together from parts like other wash mitts. The are a bi-product from the companys main rug making bussiness.
Rinse well, shake then hang on line to dry, they fluff up like new. I tend to keep mine slightly damp in a plastic zip lock bag.
The best out there by far!

I've just ordered one of the Maguires lambswool mitts. Very good reviews about them so I decided to give it a whirl. Have been using a gtechniq mitt upto now but it hasn't really lasted well. The seams are already starting to split inside the mitt and I've only y had it about 3 months.

Another vote for the dooka wash pad here. I've been through so many different pads & mitts. This is my last stop, really good quality.
