Classifieds at the back of Mercedes Enthusiast? There was one in there a while ago :)

You could try here:

www.**********.com

Good luck.:)

It really is rather a special car... one that isnt really known about too much apart from enthusiasts.

Personally I 'm with shude on this one. Put it in Mercedes Enthusiast.

Top Marques magazine (run by Autotrader) but not particularly cheap ?

AutoTrader WEBsite is quite cheap at approx £15 for 2 weeks

No offence Brian, but I think you need some different pictures which show the car in full frame, polished up and in decent light. Your photos are nice and arty, but don't show the car off for what it probably really is, and are not the best for selling purposes.

Hi mate, you could try ebay. You need to put a good description of what the car is, i.e. history of this rare model and great detail about the history of your car. Then you need v good pics in good light.
Start at penny with no reserve. And do the gallery featured plus option, i think its 9.99, but well worth it. (it will ensure yours is at the top of the mercedes category permanently) You will get a lot of 'how much are you after' questions, you should answer these emails by sticking a grand or two above what youre really after to sort the men from the boys. Its v likely that you will sell privately before end of auction.
Do 10 day auction to get a wide coverage. Be flexoble and accomodate any viewings. Be careful who you let drive it, im sure youll attract the odd 17 yr old who wants a test drive! IF it doesnt look like its going your way within last hour of auction, cancel it. But im sure it will work.

If not, then mercedes enthusiast.

********** is cr*p. Sorry to be blunt, there might be some good experiences, but the guy who runs it is only interested in his cut. He must actually sell less than about 1 car per month. Its unlikely you will get value for the 30 something pounds it will cost you. Put it this way, you will get 2 go's on ebay for that.

I know ebay sounds like a lot of effort, but if you want to sell your car quickly and at the least cost, its worth it.

Unless my eyes are going or your pics are printed up wrong, this is a LHD vehicle. That being so, try selling it through one of the non UK enthusiast mags or sites?

A 500E is still considered to be a fine vehicle for ripping down the autobahn, tearing up the track at weekends or just enjoying yourself. Really should have a forum all to itself. Well, what do we have here?

There has been one for sale in Merc enthusiast for some time now..... :-(

Way too fast for our roads

Very specialised car the 500E, georgeous, but way to fast for most people! The ultimate Bahnstormer in its day judging by the write up in Mercedes Enthusiast, and built with the help of Porche apparently.

Mercedes Enthusiast is probably your best bet.

These comments are pure slander!

libel/slander is only a problem if what's said is not true

I must add that Jaymanek does seem to get through quite a few cars has used a number of different methods in which to sell them in order to move on.

**********, rather than shout slander, perhaps it might be more prudent to learn a little from what is clearly the impresion a customer of yours perceived (rightly or wrongly). I personally would use this information, find the cause, make any necessary changes and move onwards and upwards.

Just my thoughts anyway.

Seems to me it's up to Jaymanek to explain his position rather than ********** to defend himself. Jay is the one slinging mud here, going into pretty fierce attack mode without any explanation or background whatsoever.

********** has been in business for years, has been written up glowingly in several of the national paper's Motoring Sections and has verifiable Testimonials aplenty on his site. As he says on his site, he gets over 19,000 hits per day, all of which must be MB fanciers looking to sell or buy, so something is going on there.

In any organisation there are going to be a number of disgruntled customers. Perhaps Jaymanek would tell us why he is one of **********'s.

I can't really agree with that advice as most of the bidding takes place in the last few minutes, indeed the last seconds as many Ebayers use snipe software.
People often bid up slowly to the reserve out of curiosity so I normally set a realistic one although you do have to pay extra.
I would imagine ********** is for those not wanting to deal with the Chav bombsite type traders that infest Ebay and Autotrader:devil:

The Chairman of The Mercedes Benz Club, http://www.mercedes-benz-club.co.uk/ has put his wife's car on the ********** site over the weekend.
